Jackie Chan's First Strike (BD) The world's most explosive action star fights for America for the first time. A hard-hitting gang has the numbers and weapons on its side. Jackie Chan ( RUSH HOUR ) has what’s within his reach: a ladder. It will do. Chan’s amazingly inventive and widely famed deployment of a ladder as a weapon (he also uses a broom, stilts, a chair, a shark [!] and anything else that’s handy during the film) is a highlight among highlights in this rollicking action/comedy in which he’s called upon to recover a stolen warhead component. The adventure whisks our hero from high-rise Hong Kong to the snowy Ukraine to sunny Brisbane – and he plunges into it all with wall-to-wall kickbutt joy. Settle in and watch as Chan and a ladder lift the martial arts to new heights of fun. A wonderful movie, one to see for the Jackie Chan ...
A wonderful movie, one to see for the Jackie Chan fans. His only real movies are before the Hollywood career, you know. This one fits the bill. Comedy and action in different surroundings, maybe a bit of plot to consider, and just so much of Jackie Chan. There's action, surprising moments with using some items from the surroundings, and otherwise suprising action sequences, and all with a heart to it. This movie is just something to love. All in all, a five star experience for Jackie Chan fans and for those who aren't quite yet fans.

5-stars for the movie, 2 stars to New Line Cinema for the cuts and the overall release.
One of the most entertaining movies of Jackie Chan that is sometimes referred to as Police Story 4. The video and audio quality are fine, but this is a barebones release - the "extras" are meh. Jackie's HK movies released by New Line Cinema/Miramax usually spend a lot of time in the cutting room floor for some dumb reasons, but this is one of the absolute worst - around 20 minutes! (Joining the league of the obnoxiously cut Armour of God, Armour of God 2, and Project A.) I mean, why in the blue hell would you delete so much even from the final fight scene that is one of the most fascinating?! I always find it dumb & disrespectful to remove so much that butchers the director's vision. Wish we get an uncut version in the future, just like Mr. Nice Guy...but not holding my breath.

A Must have
This movie is a must have for Chan fans. Personally I love his younger stuff, but once he gets control over the choreography and stunts, you can't be disappointed with the outcome. This movie is worth having for the ladder fight sequence alone. It's got his humorous antics in it, which is why I love Jackie Chan movies they aren't tense the whole time. It is a fun family movie with really great action sequences.

top notch performance with great stunts and some really funny parts.
Jackie Chan does some snow stunts for the first time. His fight scenes, like underwater with bad guys and sharks is one not be missed. very funny. This is classic Jackie Chan at his best. also the only time I've seen marshal arts under water!. You will leave this movie thoroughly impressed with Jackie's acrobatic stunt prowess. The acting is pretty poor as usual, but that isn't what makes Jackie Chan movies great, and this one has plenty of what does make it great; action, real stunts, and his own style of humour.
