Reading conflicting descriptions** A: 420HC is what you'll most likey get. **Q: What is the length of the blade?** A: 9.75 overall full tang, 4.75 actual blade length. **Q: What kind of steel is used in the blade?** A: Gerber products use a 100% high-grade stainless steel. Stainless steel is not completely resistant to rust but rather is corrosion resistant to rust. Corrosion can occur in the absence of proper maintenance. Your Gerber product should be cleaned, dried and re-oiled periodically to inhibit rust and corrosion; this is especially true in a damp or marine environment. If your Gerber product comes in contact with any substance that you are uncertain about, it is always a good idea to wash your blade off with tap water, dry it and apply a light coat of oil. If your Gerber product comes into contact with saltwater you must flush it with tap water immediately after use and coat it with good quality lightweight oil. Salt water is extremely corrosive and will attack and destroy any type of steel. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Solid fixed blade option, especially if on a budget 👍 *by on Reviewed in the United States July 21, 2026* Great knife for daily bag and/or car. Good to have for emergencies while out etc, you never know. Feels sturdy and blade is sharp. The sheath is good, feel like it will last awhile. The grip is good and comfortable in hand. Its size is just right for a daily carry fixed blade too. The price is good as well, not ridiculously over-priced like a lot of other knives these days. All in all, a good deal and I would recommend 👍 ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great All-In-One Tool *by on Reviewed in the United States October 8, 2025* This is a reasonably priced knife for everyday outdoor carry, kit, or bug-out bag. The knife is sharp out of the package and the sheath appears surprisingly well built. This piece feels nice in your hand and the sheath seems good and of nice quality with what appears to be high quality stitching as well. As you can see in my photos I have made a few personal modifications like adding a leather dangler so the knife rides lower and hopefully provides some strength and longevity to the sheath strap. Another reason is the ability to add it to your belt or molle on your bag. The paracord is nicely placed and gives additional cordage for a leg tie or any other needs. Like others the ferro rod rides upside down but is FIRMLY secure to the sheath with a gasket seal and requires some effort to deploy it. Keep in mind that the ferro rod is a last resort so you should not have to remove it constantly if as always you carry matches or a lighter. I am very confident that it will stay in place with minimal risk of coming out or becoming lost. I would by this again and recommend it to anyone looking for a cost effective outdoor, kit, or bug-out-bag knife. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Gerber hit a Home Run with this Knife *by on Reviewed in the United States October 9, 2026* 5 stars not 4 this could be my favorite fixed blade I've ever owned. Well built sturdy comfortable and just looks cool. I will have this knife the rest of my life. Gerber it a homerun with this one! I highly recommend it and will be buying them for Christmas presents this year! ## Frequently Bought Together - Gerber Gear Ultimate Survival Knife, Fixed Blade Knife with Combo Edge, includes Fire Starter Edge and Ferro Rod, Whistle, Sheath with Integrated Sharpener - Bushcraft, Hunting and Camping Tool - Gerber Gear Pack Hatchet - 3.5" Steel Blade Axe with Full Tang - Survival, Bushcraft and Camping Gear - with Mountable Nylon Sheath - Brown - LifeStraw Personal Water Purifier for Hiking, Camping, Travel, and Emergency Preparedness --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.no/products/189176965-gerber-ultimate-fixed-blade-knife-w-sheath-knife-sharpener-ferro](https://www.desertcart.no/products/189176965-gerber-ultimate-fixed-blade-knife-w-sheath-knife-sharpener-ferro) --- *Product available on Desertcart Norway* *Store origin: NO* *Last updated: 2026-10-26*
