There was never a shortage of water, but i did have it fed by a filthy mosquito larva, bird poop, rat poop infested cistern 24/7 (a float valve prevented overfilling) and the sweet filtered water drained into a bunch of 5 gallon containers. Never got sick. **Q: The black rubber seal, on the bottom, leaks. Is there any way to replace it?** A: Right on. If properly lubed and installed, it won't leak. UNTIL the plastic shank wears out from all the side-side pressure. Then it will slowly crack then leak like mine, then fall off during the night. Like mine. But, buy this lil fella:http://www.amazon.com/Stainless-Works-Beverage-Dispenser-Replacement/dp/B00IX87W1Q/ref=sr_1_fkmr1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1405085923&sr=8-2-fkmr1&keywords=fluid+spigot+drinkI installed mine, and it works perfect so far. And it's not plastic, so it won't wear out. And it's designed for the application: dispensing edible fluid. Better washers, sturdy construction. **Q: I've purchased two spigots now for the filter, and both of them have leaked. I followed the directions and gently tightened it and it leaked. Any tip** A: Make sure the opening is derbies free. Check to see it isn't dented or out of round. you may need to take a small wrench and tighten it a little tighter. Also make sure that your washers are installed right. **Q: How do you make the water alkaline with a British berkefeld?** A: The System does not remove healthy minerals, so you will have them in the water if they are already there before the water is filtered. If you would like to have the PH level rise, you would have to use something that alkalizes the water, which we do not have any recommendations. ## Frequently Bought Together - British Berkefeld® Gravity Water Filter with four 7" Super Sterasyl™ Ceramic Water Filter Elements - Doulton Stainless Steel Spigot Tap for Gravity Drinking Water Filter Housing, Fits British Berkefeld and All Gravity Filter Systems --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.no/products/1849786-gravity-water-filter-with-four-7-super-sterasyl-ceramic-water](https://www.desertcart.no/products/1849786-gravity-water-filter-with-four-7-super-sterasyl-ceramic-water) --- *Product available on Desertcart Norway* *Store origin: NO* *Last updated: 2026-11-03*
