Review: Great Scroll Saw for a Hobby Woodworker! - I purchased the WEN scroll saw for my small woodworking shop, and I can't wait to start using it. I wanted something that would allow me to make more detailed cuts and expand the types of projects I could make without spending a fortune, and this was a great choice. It was easy to set up and is very straightforward to use, even if you're fairly new to scroll saw work. The saw feels sturdy, runs smoothly, and gives me much more control for curves and detailed cuts than I can get with my other saws. One of the things I really like is being able to take a piece of offal and turn it into something special. I've been experimenting with different woodworking projects, and this saw will open up a whole new range of possibilities for me. For the price, I think this is an excellent scroll saw for a hobbyist or someone putting together a small home workshop. I'm very pleased with my purchase and looking forward to seeing what else I can create with it!
Review: Durable, Easy to Use, Amazing Value - Everything in the pictures was cut with this saw. I have owned this saw now for 18 months. I have used it for 100s of hours on scores of projects. This is the only scrollsaw I have ever owned, and over the past year and a half I have enjoyed getting to know this machine better and growing my skills to make more and more detailed designs. I recently made a set of 5, 100 piece puzzles as gifts for friends and family (see picture with some of the pieces). I also made some smaller puzzles. But I've done much more than just the pictured puzzles with my WEN scrollsaw. I've made tons of decorative seasonal items (a nativity, little Easter eggs, etc), toys for my kids (little animals), and little cutouts of movie characters that I gave to kids for Halloween. In October last year, I was repairing my garage ceiling, and needed thin wood shims to lower the drywall a little. I cut the shims to the exact width I needed using this saw (yes, this could be done with other saws, but all I've got besides this is a circular saw). We built custom shelving for our pantry and needed the shelves cut to a precise shape. Yep, you guessed it, my trusty WEN scrollsaw came to the rescue. I was replacing a closet rod and needed the new one cut to length. Do you know how hard it is to make it hold still while cutting with a circular saw?? Guess which saw I ended up using to cut the rod? WEN! My point is, this saw ended up being far more powerful and versatile than I ever imagined. It's stood the test of time, handled all sorts of materials, and keeps on chugging along. A few notes: - I use Olson Skip Tooth Pinless Saw blades. Pinless blades work great in this machine. Just use the included Allen Wrench to tighten the clamps down. - I ended up breaking one of my thumb screws because I was tightening it too much. I contacted Wen, and they sent me a new one. They also sent me a new clamp for the blade, since the broken screw was stuck in mine. Excellent customer service. I don't use the plastic part of the thumb screw anymore - just use the wrench - and I haven't had issues since. - The air pump doesn't blow much air because the bellows is a little too short. To fix this, I cut a thin rectangle of wood that fits on top of the upper arm of the saw. It sits between the bellows and the arm, and compresses the bellows when the arm moves. Now, the blower works great! - I have never tilted the table (always keep it at a right angle to the blade). I set the table stop right where I wanted it and it has never budged since. I check from time to time to make sure that it's still square, and it has stayed right where I put it. - Clamp the saw to the table while you use it (or use the included mounting holes to permanently mount it to a table). This cuts down on vibrations so much and really helps. - I recommend buying a "dead man" foot switch for use with this saw. That way you can control the blade movement on/off with your foot (kind of like a sewing machine). My foot pedal takes this saw to a whole new level! Before buying this saw I was skeptical as I had never heard of the WEN brand before, and was worried about getting a cheaply made saw. In the end, I went for it because I didn't want to spend 100s on another saw since I'd never even used a scrollsaw before. I am so glad that I trusted WEN because they delivered! This saw is my favorite tool.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: what is the difference between the 3921 and 3922?**
A: These two units are almost identical. The only differences are that the 3921 includes a flexible work light and a blade storage compartment on the side, while 3922 features a special side panel that folds open for easy clean up and blade changes. Also, the 3921 uses the two-direction adapter system for holding blades (better for pinned blades), while the 3922 uses a standard blade holding system (better for pinless blades).

**Q: Did anyone find out if a miter gauge or some type of guard can be used to make straight cuts?**
A: If your material to be cut allows enough room on the table portion to attach a straight edge with clamps, it will work just fine. Make sure that your straight edge is aligned with the saw blade so you don't end up breaking blades. Lastly, the thicker the material, use blades that have fewer teeth per inch or TPI. I am using a 7 TPI blade to cut anything over 1/2 inch, so far, it is working but slow cutting.

**Q: I am new to scroll saws so have to ask. Is it worth the $40 difference in price for the 3921 over the 3920 and why.**
A: I can't speak for the 3921, but the 3920 is okay at best, it's actually nice if you use pinned end blades. However if you plan on using pinnless blades I would suggest a diffirent saw. Hope this helps

**Q: Have a new 3922 scroll saw. Upper and lower pinless blade holders wont pinch together to hold the blades. Wen are you going to back up your saw ?**
A: You have to make sure they are the correct length and it does take some work getting them in properly. It too two people to load mine.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Nice Saw And Easy To Use
*by P***S on December 11, 2025*

So far so good. This is a nice little scroll saw for the money. I do wish that the blower would have a bit more power but that isn't much of a problem. It isn't very heavy at all and it was pretty easy to set up and use for the most part. Changing blades with pins is a bit of a struggle for anyone who has adult sized hands but once you get used to changing them you can change them out pretty effortlessly. The noise level is not anything you wouldn't expect from a scroll saw. It will work fine for the light work that I do on one and it seems like it is durable enough to hold up for my use. It's not a professional saw by any stretch but I'm not a professional guy. I make little things here and there and sometimes I need a scroll saw so this one seems to do just fine.
