I was using a small 2x4 with bolts and wings nuts through the stake posts (see pic) while effective, it was slow to undo and go. I wanted something faster. This fit the bill. I wish I they were an inch or two longer, but they worked perfectly. I oybised 2 of the 3. So I have 1 spare in the event of failure. So far, its a great improvement. I highly recommend them at this point in time. I cannot speak on their weather resistance and rust proofing at this point. I keep the trailer stored outside on the side of the house in SoCal as you can see by the paint fading on my trailer (shes gonna get repainted soon, (thats another review in week or two) I will update this review at 6 months and 1 year. Review: Work as described. Great alternative to destaco. - I am using these outdoors, exposed to the elements. They have held up great now for over a year. I originally wanted destaco brand since I had used them in the past and I know they are high quality. I am happy to report that these are a great alternative at a much cheaper price. They aren't as robust as the destaco counterpart, but they fit the need and function just as expected. Id buy these again for the same application. ## Features - Durable Material: Toggle latch clamp is made of carbon steel, galvanized coating, corrosion resistant, and long lasting. - Heavy Duty Capacity: Heavy duty latches design is Up to 2000Lbs,features adjustable u bolt which can help you adjust the mounting distance and clipping force - Easy Install,: 2 Pack toggle latch clamp is so easy to install, just fix them with screws. - Size: 7.87 * 2.35 * 1.98 inches - Multiple Application: Heavy duty toggle latch clamp is perfect for for doors, boxes, cases, cans, cabinet, machinery, automobiles, fixture assemblies and other mid-size woodworking holding, connecting movable parts, tensioning two sectional, and more. ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B082KCDKWR | | Best Sellers Rank | #169,573 in Tools & Home Improvement ( See Top 100 in Tools & Home Improvement ) #49 in Toggle Clamps | | Brand | SKYCY | | Brand Name | SKYCY | | Color | Red | | Customer Reviews | 4.5 out of 5 stars 475 Reviews | | Included Components | 3Pcs Toggle Clamp 431 | | Item Weight | 0.37 kg | | Manufacturer | SKYCY | | Manufacturer Part Number | 431-5 Green | | Material | High Carbon Steel | | Material Type | High Carbon Steel | | Model Number | 431-5 Green | | Number of Items | 3 | | Number of Packs | 3 | | Set Name | Toggle Latch Clamp Set (3 Piece) | | Style | Red | | Style Name | Red | | Tensile Strength | 2000 pounds | | UPC | 653552482420 | | Unit Count | 3 Count | ## Product Details - **Brand:** SKYCY - **Color:** Red - **Item Weight:** 0.37 Kilograms - **Material:** High Carbon Steel - **Number of Items:** 3 - **Number of Packs:** 3 - **Set Name:** Toggle Latch Clamp Set (3 Piece) - **Style:** Red - **Tensile Strength:** 2000 Pounds - **UPC:** 653552482420 ## Images ![3PCS 2000lbs Toggle Clamp 431,Heavy Duty Toggle Latch Clamp,Tire Carrier Latch,Quick Release Latch,Cam Lever Clamp.Adjustable Latch for Lid Latch,Cam Clamp Latch,Pull Latch & Draw Latch Hardware - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71rwhxOnpyL.jpg) ## Available Options This product comes in different **Style** options. ## Questions & Answers **Q: What is the size of the two parts that get screwed into place?** A: I took a tape measure to mine and came up with some numbers. The hinge base measured 1 3/4 inches wide by 1 1/2 inches long. The holes were all 3/4 inch apart. The hook part was 3/4 inch wide by 1 inch long, by 1 inch tall. The holes were 1/2 inch apart. The loop measured 4 1/2 inches long. All of the holes accepted 1/4 inch screws. I used 1/4-20 screws. **Q: Is this 2 pieces or 1** A: It’s 3 complete latches. Each latch is in 2 pieces, the lock mechanism and the catch. **Q: can this be used on a steam boiler?** A: I would think the boiler is heavy cast and these are not that heavy. Truthfully I used them on a side door of a 26’ box truck to help the factory latch and it worked perfectly. **Q: Will they rust outdoor? I want to use them as a wood gate lock.** A: They appear to be either zinc coated or have something that retards rust. That said, they are more what I would consider an occasional use latch, not something that is operated frequently. They have nuts to adjust the latching distance/securing as in making the closing not rattle when it is latched. These nuts do move, but aren't hard to re-adjust. Overall I would stay away from outside gate use if it is operated regularly. They are good latches, just not a robust and rugged latch for opening and closing frequently ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great latches for my harbor freight folding trailer. *by M***S on August 30, 2020* I picked these up to use to keep my harbor freight haul master folding trailer for use when folded up in storage position.
