If you get active speakers you do not need a receiver. Active speakers would need to be plugged into an outlet. Passive speakers plug into an amp or receiver. **Q: If i add an ortofon red to this rt82 then it will be exactly the same as an rt83. is that correct? no other differences at all?** A: The Ortophon OM 10 cartridge turns out to be pretty good. I am not sure you will be able to tell the difference upgrading to the RED. There are other cartridges in the $150 to $200 range that would be a better choice. Talk to the experts and given the genre of music you like get some recommendations. **Q: Does it have Bluetooth capabilities?** A: No this is abasic high quality turntable it does not have a pre amp or Bluetooth capability. You can always use a pre amp with Bluetooth if you need bluetooth. **Q: Do you need to manualy adjust the belt to play 45s?** A: no adjustment to the belt needed. only move the knob from 33 to 45. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fluance turntable RT82 *by on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 19 July 2026* I’m pretty satisfied with this turntable, it’s arrived very fast and it was perfectly packed, ease to set up and sounds amazing.The product design is really good and it looks very robust, some little things could be improved like the tonearm rest clip that seems a bit fragile and the cape of the motor could have been better designed to fits firmly with no gaps, but any of those affect the sound quality.I’ll definitely recommend the Fluance RT82 turntable. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Exceptional *by on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 19 May 2026* Chose the RT82 as its the first one in the range you can upgrade to RT 85 spec in stages. The unit is really beautiful and very easy to assemble wearing the supplied white gloves which do not mark the deck. Once assembled it is very easy to use ( be aware the cue arm lever allows a very slow descent of the arm which may throw you at first) the sound is very noise free and provides a warm sound through my vintage amp which os what i was aiming since changed the monitor audio silver rs1 for DALI Oberon 3 and its sounding even better. I am glad i went for this turntable. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Superb Turntable *by on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 9 November 2025* This is a superb turntable, after some deliberation I decided to upgrade my Fluance RT 80, and after comparing other decks from other HI FI companies decided on the RT82 based on current reviews, this is a solid and outstanding piece of kit for the price, bass, mid range and treble are spot on, and the channel separation is excellent with the Ortofon OM10 cartridge,the finish of the deck is 1st class, everything is finished to a very high standard and sounds great.
