Install was fairly straightforward, I had a standard ring type bathroom halogen that this was replacing and is a much smaller footprint. One thing I will say is the sliding mechanism for attaching to the ceiling is a little fiddly, I had to get both hands on either side whilst trying to apply pressure to the light so that it was snug to the ceiling and clicked into place. Please note: This unit ONLY operates on 2.4Ghz - for some broadband routers you can split out the 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz bands so you can connect devices to that are only compatible with each, but I have a BT Hub 6 and you only have the option to disable 5Ghz - so unfortunately this is what I’ve had to do, I would say that product improvement is needed here to enable the device to connect to a 2.4Ghz / 5Ghz SSID and still make the connection over 2.4Ghz - we shouldn’t have to disable 5Ghz completely. The white light at standard full brightness out of the box is so bright! We have opted to change to a warmer white colour and lowered the brightness right down - also in this mode it barely consumes any wattage - around 2-3w which is incredible considering it was replacing a unit that used 28w. From the app you can easily change the brightness levels and saturation if you needed. All in all, a great product, one other improvement I would like to see is the speed control on Scene 4 & 5 (RGB cycling) the speed on its slowest setting is still too fast to create a relaxing effect (it’s still almost disco speed!) so if the app had more control over that it would be great. I would recommend this product overall, hopefully this helps a potential purchaser.

Having bought 1 or 2 lights of varying quality the first thing I noticed about the Lepro light was its good quality construction, yes its made of plastic but the is no flex in the frame/body of the light and no rough edges. Wiring is straightforward just push the bare wire into the live and neutral holes and job done. The tricky part for me was the connection to the ceiling mounting plate and that was more to do with having big fingers the kept getting in the way of holding the spring clips apart and the ceiling. My solution was to use string to pull the spring clips apart, then place the lamp to the bracket and release. Some 1 star reviews have mentioned not being able to connect to wifi and I had the same issue but guessed the cause was my Netgear Orbi mesh system which operates at 5Ghz & 2.4Ghz and the 5Ghz frequency trying to connect to the light which only works on 2.4Ghz. Anyway these frequencies have different ranges so I isolated my Orbi satellite ( which was closest to the light) which meant the 2.4Ghz frequency from the Orbi hub was most likely to make the connection and so it was. If you can't connect to wifi then check out if your router/hub uses these 2 frequencies. Connecting to Alexa was even easier as the Lepro app does it for you (or google if thats what you have). The app gives you a number of light display choices which you can manually configure or choose from 8 pre determined choices. At the time of writing I haven't worked out how to get Alexa to do this but I'm not to concerned as long as Alexa can switch it on/off I can get by. The picture was taken at 5pm with alot of light coming in the bedroom window, ok review over back to the decorating of the bedroom :)

Neat style for outdoor porch. Too bright on 100 percent but you can cjhoose brightness level and change from White to any colour if desired. Problem I had was it just would not connect to the Lepro app even though in pairing mode. As a last attempt I tried using SmartLife and that worked straight away- and then I could link it to Google Home as well after that. At last I had porch light on a timer with low running costs.

I now have two of these lights in both my bathroom and office - they are Fantastic value for money. Very bright on max setting, and great fun to play with, I can easily control the brightness through Alexa and the colour. The app or Alexa app allows more precise control. They look lovely too - very small clean design. Slight grumble is I found it tricky to put up as the ceiling wires lock in by a plastic clip not screw - this meant that they kept popping out. So I extended the ceiling cable with a short extension to make it easier - but I’m no electrical expert so it’s probably more me at fault. Also my daughter has a habit of turning the light off at switch like a normal light. When you turn it back on there’s no lag in reconnecting which can be a problem with other smart lights. It connects immediately and once linked to Alexa even if you turn it off at the switch it reconnects immediately without issue in my experience. I’d say it’s the most stable smart light product for connection and integration with Wi-Fi and Alexa I have used - recommend!

First of all, this light is really nice and bright. So easy to install, I’m taking about 3-4 mins. The problems started when I tried to set the Wi-Fi up. After a hour of the light flashing and putting my Wi-Fi password into the app it still was not picking the light up. I knew it had to be 2.4 GHZ so I dived into my router settings to make sure it was 2.4 not 5. Cut a long story short, noticed my new phone was on 5 and my old iPhone 7 was on the 2.4GHZ. With a quick charge and the app downloaded it took me 2 mins to sync the light to my phone, once I’d done that I went on to my new phone and there it was in the app. Hope this helps lol. Once it was synced the light is amazing, fast to change colour and lots of different modes.

The lights incredibly bright, probably borderline too bright but it can be dimmed using the app and remembers the last setting which is very helpful. You do however have to create an account before you can use the app which is a little bit frustrating just to use a light bulb but once its pair it means adding the lights on another device is really easy which balances it out. The only real gripe I have with the light, is the colours aren't very true with the ones on the app. I've yet to be able to find a true red the colour, it either ends up being orange or pink and there is no way to pick a particular colour, you simply drag a hue slider which isn't idea. White and warm white light however is fairly easy to pick out. Installation is OK. You remove the metal bracket and screw that in first, then pull the latches either slide to hook the light onto the ceiling, which sounds easy but in practice ended up being a bit fiddly. All in all I think 3 Stars is fair. If the colours had been better I would've given it 4. Constantly disconnects from WiFi too much pain for a light awful don’t buy

This lamp has been a game-changer. The dimmable and RGB color-changing features allow me to customize the lighting to suit any mood or occasion. Controlling it through the app or via voice commands with Alexa is incredibly convenient. The app is also easy to use and provides plenty of features to configure the lamp. With 15W and 1250lm, it provides ample brightness, and the warm to cool white tunable feature is a nice touch. Highly recommended for smart home enthusiasts!

Skip to end if you just want a recap! I purchased 2 of these lights, one for the bedroom and the other for the spare room. The lights themselves put out a good amount of light, especially on their various white settings, and also on their coloured with less saturation settings. If you want the pure colour then of course the white leds need to be off but you still get a rich colour. Installation is very simple but I would say that if there is not much spare cable then it can be a bit tricky getting it set up. Some people have commented that actually attaching the light to its provided bracket is a bit difficult. Yes it it, but it took maybe only three attempts for each one to attach so I feel this is somewhat exaggerated. The biggest stumbling block I came across was the setting up of the app etc. Unlike other Lepro bulbs I have this was less simple. As stated it only works on 2.4ghz WiFi. My WiFi has both bands so it wasn't an issue for me but what was, was the app. I use the Lepro app for my other bulbs but it did not seem to work with these lights and there is certainly no blue flashing to indicate it is ready to pair. In the end I downloaded the Lamp UX app and everything work, but was annoyed I had to double up on apps. Connecting to Alexa was an absolute doddle but without guidance for what was possible for the first part, it was rather annoying. It seems you can set your own light 'shows' or 'loops' through the Lamp UX app but I cant be bothered with that. Overall a good purchase but I'm only giving it three stars as when it comes to smart devices one of the most important things is the set up, and this fell flat on its face due to lack of correct instructions. RECAP: Short length of wire from light fitting can make installation tricky. Attaching light to bracket once you attached to ceiling take a little bit of patience but not bad. Download Lamp UX and you should be ok. Don't waste your time with the Lepro standard app with these, unless you want to waste 2 hours! If using Lamp UX, it should automatically ask (for me anyway) if you want to add to Alexa so that's super simple. Good amount of light on the white and any setting that isn't a pure coloured setting. Standard RGB pure colour will be a little dimmer as no white LEDS are involved in that, but that's standard and to be expected. Hope this helps!

Installation was very easy - well thought out - you first mount the metal holder in the ceiling with two screws, then just ”clip on” the lamp. And for me it was perfect that the power cord goes into the lamp from the side. Attaching a power cord was very easy as well, remove two screws, clip it in, then reattach the screws to hold it safely. The app is easy to use and you can create a household so everyone gets access to controlling the lamp. WiFi will only work at 2,4 ghz - but since we have both 2,4 ghz and 5 ghz on simultaneously that wasn’t a problem… (Even though the Android version of the app warned about the connection being 5 ghz - we just ignored that and the lamp was found.) You can control dimming and how warm/cold the light should be from the app - cold is to the point of being almost blueish, but the warm light has a very nice quality too it. (The color mode works well too but seems to output a lot less light… - more for fun effects…) A well thought out product at a very nice price!
