I was a bit skeptical when I first purchased it, but after using it for months I can absolutely say I’m satisfied. Out of the box, the remote didn’t work consistently. That said I was surprisingly able to fix this by pressing the remote face-down on my desk firmly. I believe a connection was loose, and that solved it. The built in options are great, and the build quality feels solid. I can’t say I’d feel great about dropping it or stacking anything heavy on it, but you can tell it’s decently constructed. The sound and video quality are great. Input lag is basically nonexistent, at least in my experience. These machines have RGB ports, so I made several RGB to SCART cables following the proper specs. However, when I tried using basic SCART-to-HDMI converters from Amazon, nothing worked correctly. The image was unstable or didn’t show up at all. Then I tried this OSSC and it worked immediately, right out of the box! I was honestly amazed. I had started to think the problem was the MSX RGB port OR my soldering skills, since none of my cables worked with the other converters. It turns out the real issue was those cheap converter boxes. This OSSC SCART box works flawlessly and brings out a clean, sharp, and incredibly stable image from my MSX machines. I’m attaching photos of the first cable I made.
