Here’s why this diaper pail deserves five stars: Odor Control: One of the standout features of the Ubbi Diaper Pail is its exceptional odor control. The steel construction and rubber seal around the lid effectively contain odors, keeping our nursery smelling fresh. We’ve noticed a significant improvement compared to our previous diaper pail. The pail holds up well over time, with no signs of wear or degradation, even with regular use. Ease of Use: The pail is easy to use and has a convenient sliding lid that opens smoothly. The lid mechanism is simple yet effective, allowing for one-handed operation while you’re juggling a diaper and a baby. The lid also closes securely, ensuring that odors are contained. Capacity and Refills: The Ubbi Diaper Pail has a generous capacity, which means fewer trips to the trash can. It uses standard kitchen trash bags, which is a big plus compared to pails that require expensive, special refills. This feature makes it both cost-effective and convenient. Design and Aesthetics: The sleek, modern design of the Ubbi Diaper Pail fits nicely with any nursery decor. It comes in a variety of colors to match different styles and preferences. The clean lines and minimalist look are a welcome change from the bulky, unattractive diaper pails on the market. Ease of Cleaning: Cleaning the Ubbi Diaper Pail is straightforward. Review: Best Diaper Pail - No Proprietary Refills Required! - As a new parent, the Ubbi Steel Diaper Pail has been one of my best baby gear purchases. After researching multiple diaper pails, I'm so glad I chose this one. No Special Refills - Thank God! This is THE biggest selling point for me. Unlike other popular diaper pails that force you to buy their expensive proprietary refill cartridges, the Ubbi uses any standard 13-gallon trash bag. This saves so much money in the long run! I was shocked when I learned how much those special refills cost for other brands - it's essentially a subscription tax on parents. With the Ubbi, I can buy whatever trash bags are on sale or in bulk, and I'm not locked into one brand's ecosystem. This feature alone makes it worth every penny. Odor Control: The steel construction and rubber seals do an excellent job containing odors. Even with multiple dirty diapers sitting in there, I don't smell anything unless I open the lid. The sliding lid mechanism creates a tight seal that really works. Our nursery stays fresh, which is especially important since we spend so much time in there. Steel Construction: The powder-coated steel is sturdy and doesn't absorb odors like plastic pails do. It feels substantial and well-built - not like a cheap plastic bin that will crack or retain smells over time. I can tell this will last through multiple children. Easy to Use: The sliding lid is intuitive and can be operated with one hand, which is crucial when you're holding a squirming baby. You don't need to step on a pedal or wrestle with a complicated mechanism. Just slide it open, drop the diaper in, and slide it closed. Child Lock: The child-proof lock on the sliding lid is a great safety feature. It's easy enough for adults to operate but prevents curious toddlers from getting into it. Capacity: Holds plenty of diapers before needing to be emptied. With a newborn, we empty it every 2-3 days, which is very reasonable. Easy to Clean: The steel interior wipes down easily and doesn't retain stains or smells. Much better than plastic in this regard. Design: The modern, sleek design looks good in the nursery. It doesn't scream "diaper pail" and comes in various colors to match your décor. Cost-Effectiveness: While the upfront cost is higher than some plastic pails, the savings on bags more than makes up for it. Not being forced to buy expensive refill cartridges means this pays for itself quickly. Plus, the durability means you won't need to replace it. Minor Considerations: - It's heavier than plastic pails due to the steel construction, but that also makes it more stable - The initial investment is higher, but absolutely worth it for the long-term savings Bottom Line: The Ubbi Steel Diaper Pail is the smart choice for parents who don't want to be locked into buying expensive proprietary refills. It's well-designed, effective at odor control, durable, and will save you money over time. Highly recommend this to any expecting or new parent! ## Features - STAINLESS STEEL: The Ubbi Diaper Pail is made of stainless steel, providing superior odor control. This high quality stainless steel and rubber seal design ensures that unpleasant smells are contained within the pail, keeping your nursery smelling clean - NO SPECIAL BAGS REQUIRED: Unlike other diaper disposal systems, the Ubbi Diaper Pail does not require any special bags, refills, cassettes, or inserts. Parents can use any standard trash bag which saves money and adds convenience - SLIDING LID WITH CHILDPROOF LOCK: Equipped with a sliding lid, the Ubbi Diaper Pail minimizes air disruption when opened and closed. The pail’s innovative lid design ensures a smooth and airtight closure, trapping in stinky odors. The childproof lock keeps out tiny hands - ALL STYLE, NO SMELL: Available in a variety of colors, allowing parents to choose the perfect design that complements any nursery. This nursery must-have makes the perfect baby registry gift. Stainless steel is not supposed to absorb odors but I feel like it is. Anyone else? 17 months old.** A: It says powder coated steel not stainless steel . Even stainless steel can corrode just not as quickly as standard steel. **Q: This does not seem like it would hold odor in well? It is smelly when you slide open the lid?** A: It is super smelly!!! We have only had it for a couple of weeks and I thought I just have something wrong - a lid ajar, the slider slightly open... But no, it really just stinks and does not contain it! We are returning. **Q: for cloth diaper parents what liners have you used in the ubbi besides the ubbi liner** A: I use the Planetwise bag liner. I just throw it in the wash with the diapers. **Q: So you can't clean this with any liquid? not even a clorox wipe on the inside? is it worthwhile/possible to add an arm & hamor disc inside the pail?** A: We’ve had this item for over a year now, we always wipe it with a lightly damped cloth of Lysol or Method, hasn’t rusted a bit. We usually add a little baking soda to the bag and keeps the odor at bay ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The Ultimate Diaper Pail for Busy Parents! *by A***S on July 7, 2024* The Ubbi Steel Diaper Pail has been a fantastic investment for our diaper-changing routine. The diaper door slides easily and it even locks so the kiddos can’t open it and let the stink out. It also really hides the stinky diaper smell! I’m surprisingly impressed. ## Frequently Bought Together - Ubbi Steel Diaper Pail, Odor Locking, No Special Bag Required, Award-Winning, Registry Must-Have, White - Ubbi Diaper Pail Plastic Bags, Disposable Baby Waste Bags, 3 Pack, 75 Count, 13-Gallon Bags - Ubbi On-the-Go Refill Bags, Lavender Scented, Value Pack of 36, Baby On The Go Diapering Essentials --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.no/products/1763129-steel-diaper-pail-white](https://www.desertcart.no/products/1763129-steel-diaper-pail-white) --- *Product available on Desertcart Norway* *Store origin: NO* *Last updated: 2026-10-16*
