I live in an apartment with a building-wide alarm system. Do I need to worry about triggering the smoke detectors?

Yes. You need to worry about triggering the smoke detectors. The smoke emitted by the smoke machine is atomized by the heating oil of the fog fluid. Although it is harmless to people and products, it can still set off the alarm. Thanks. Best regards.

I just purchased and I am getting no smoke just leaking of fluid

Our quality is guaranteed, and if there are any issues, we are responsible for free exchange. There may be a problem with the heater. we apologize for the inconvenience.

can i put it into my car under the bonnet to looks like its smoke?

Yes, you can do it. But you'd better not do that. In addition, pay attention to the leakage of fog fluid when doing this, and lay the smoke machine flat.
