The Audio Adaptor Board for Teensy 4.0 delivers high-fidelity 16-bit, 44.1 kHz stereo audio input and output, optimized for seamless integration with Teensy 4.0 microcontrollers. Featuring the SGTL5000 chip in slave mode, it ensures precise clock synchronization and versatile connectivity for headphone, line-level, and microphone audio applications.

## Description

This Audio Adaptor allows you to easily add high quality 16 bit, 44.1 kHz sample rate (CD quality) audio to your projects with a Teensy 4.0. It supports stereo headphone and stereo line-level output, and also stereo line-level input or mono microphone input. The audio chip connects to the Teensy using 7 signals. The I2C pins SDA and SCL are used to control the chip and adjust parameters. Audio data uses I2S signals, TX (to headphones and/or line out) and RX (from line in or mic), and 3 clocks, LRCLK (44.1 kHz), BCLK (1.41 MHz) and MCLK (11.29 MHz). All 3 clocks are created by the Teensy. The SGTL5000 chip operates in "slave mode," where all its clock pins are inputs.

A: Yes, it can be used with both the Teensy 4.0 and 4.1.

**Q: does this work on teensy 4.1?**
A: I’ve used it with a 4.0. According to the manufacturer it is supposed to work with the 4.0 and 4.1.

**Q: Will this work with arduino mega?**
A: This audio adapter board is a shield specifically made to work with the Teensy 4.0 Microcontroller Development board. It is not designed to work with an Arduino Mega.

**Q: Are you still selling Rev D or are you now selling D2?**
A: We only have the Rev D2 version. My understanding is that due to component shortages, the Rev D version is no longer available.
