I added it after the petcock and before the carburetor. It seems to work very well and I can appreciate the fact that it is clear so you can see the fuel. You should be able to see any particles getting trapped - if any. I gave it 4 stars just because it feels a little cheap for costing just over $5. I can't complain though, it seems to be working as intended and was described well.
