FURminator Adjustable Dematting,gray,Standard

My cat hates getting brushed. She just runs away. This resulted in her acquiring some matts in her fur. She is not long haired, but her fur is extremely thick. I bought this as a last ditch attempt to address the matts before they got totally out of hand. I thought I was going to have to go down the costly and stressful route of either getting her sedated at the vet or paying a professional groomer. However, the Furminator came to the rescue!It's quite heavy to hold, but in a good way. The weight allows you to follow through with the strokes without putting any weight on to your pet. Initially I managed to stroke my cat a good few times and she was ok with it. She started to tolerate it, which allowed me to get rid of the matts very thoroughly and quickly.I can now use it (although not too often, lol) to keep things in check. She needs to sniff it first thoroughly and still doesn't like it that much. She growls at it and turns to swipe it if I use it for too long, but at least I am to get a few regular strokes in on a regular basis, so it works for us.

Coat looks stunning - still some dandruff! A bag full of old hair and mats and I couldn't be happier! She even looks perkier and more herself!Delighted over here and will be using the shedding tool once a week or every other week to keep on top of it. Good to have the de matting tool on standby just incase!

My elderly cat’s fur began to get more and more matted despite regular brushing, so I bought the dematter. It isn’t an instant solution, but she really likes it, and with regular use I have cleared 95% of the clumpy bits in her coat. Every morning she hangs around next to the cupboard where the furminator is kept, meowing until I brush her.

Arrived today and used on my cockapoo this evening. She is not a fan of the brush but she was brilliant while I used this on her. As you can see from the photo it has done a brilliant job.

This drags and pulls the hair rather than cutting the clumps out of our rescue foster dog. Sadly not fit for purpose, expensive and causes pain.

Saves a lot of hovering up.

I was expecting great things as a friend had recommended. I usually cut little matts out of my babies fur but a friend said this would be better. It doesn’t cut through the matts ut just drags them and I imagine it is very uncomfortable, I would not recommend and probably won’t use again

used furminator de-shedding tools for many years and very pleased with them, But this overpriced turd of a product is useless, the adjustable length for different coats is a great idea if only the teeth actually grabbed anything, I have switched back to a horizontal oriented one that I bought from the local pet shop for a third of the price

Il prodotto si presenta solido, ergonomico e abbastanza intuitivo nell'uso. Va però utilizzato con qualche precauzione. È una spazzola con lame che, quando il pelo è ordinato, lasciano passare il pelo tra le maglie del pettine, quando incontrano qualche nodo, il pelo fa forza sulle lame e viene tagliato via. Questo almeno è il principio di funzionamento. Io ho una gatta vecchia che purtroppo ha smesso di curare il suo pelo e mi serviva qualcosa che oltre le semplici forbici per togliere i nodi. È utile, ma non necessariamente risolutivo. Dipende molto da quanto è annodato il pelo. NON VA USATO CON FORZA. Se volete bene al vostro animale, non strappate con violenza nella speranza di togliere i nodi più ostici (e vi assicuro che la mia gatta li ha!). Dovete avere pazienza e insistere con più passaggi. Al limite, prendete e tenete il pelo alla base fermo per ridurre il fastidio all'animale quando usate la spazzola. E se proprio non funziona, forse è perché il pelo è così annodato che è meglio una bella tosatura della parte problematica. Secondo me usandolo regolarmente funziona, magari in accoppiata ad una spazzola a trama fine per ridurre il sottopelo che tende ad annodarsi. Visto che l'ho preso da poco, non ho ancora avuto il tempo di valutare la durata delle lame e della spazzola nel complesso. Sembrano tutto solido e ben fatto, ma non so quanto resterà e quanto le lame manterranno il filo. Mi riservo di aggiornare se necessario la recensione in seguito.
