Buy this book for anyone taking geometry!
I highly recommend this book for anyone with a child taking Geometry! My daughter plays a varsity sport and unfortunately had Geometry as her last class of the day. She missed over half of the class sessions because her sport went all the way to the State championship, and they had to leave early for games multiple times a week. I bought this after a recommendation from a friend, and thank goodness I did because she literally taught herself Geometry using this book. Her teacher was so impressed that she was able to maintain a 99% average in the class, and asked to see the book several times as she found it helpful to use in explaining things to other students who needed a little help. Her younger sister will be in the exact same boat this year, and her brothers after that, so itโs definitely going to be worth the money.

This Book Cost Me A Geometry Tutoring Job. . .
Love, love, love this book. As a private tutor, I had been searching for a good supplemental resource book for Geometry, and I stumbled upon this one. I had a student who was struggling with Geometry, lost, overwhelmed and intimidated by the subject, and math phobic. We worked together for several weeks, and made some good progress, but she was still struggling. Then this book arrived. At first she panicked a little, because this book didn't look like her class text book, with its handwritten notes and easy, less formal language. But then she started working with it in between our tutoring sessions, and she "got" it. (As a teacher, those are the moments you live for). Her stress level and math anxiety went WAY down, she became confident and even comfortable with the subject. After her midterms I waited to hear from her to schedule our next session. And waited. . .and waited. . . I finally spoke with her father, who happily reported how well she was doing, and how enthusiastic she was about this book. A few months later, I got the call every tutor loves - an excited (former) student reporting that they got an A in the class, confidence and enthusiasm practically bursting from her. Ah well, thanks to this book, I lost a $50 per hour tutoring job. . . but for the very best of reasons:) This book can initially be a little intimidating, because its big, thick, crammed with information, and might not look exactly like the math texts you've been used to. But once you get into it, you will fall in love with it. Its well-organized by topic, and its beyond thorough in its discussion of each item. the margins are filled with hand-written notes and diagrams showing key ideas, shortcuts, common mistakes to avoid, and explanations. It can be used either as a primary text to progress through from beginning to end, or as a secondary, supplemental resource to be used just as a fill in to learn more about specific topics. Its presentation of proofs is especially well done. I wish this series was available in every subject I teach. . .

Wonderful!
I was skeptical since I've tried other "math help" books before. This one is it! This book has helped my teenage son gain confidence in geometry AND actually understand and retain the information. His grade is increasing and his confidence is building. He no longer despises geometry. The geometry battles between us are over and this book helps me to explain concepts to him when needed. I definitely would purchase again.

Very Useful and Easy to Understand
I have found this book to be very helpful when assisting my high school freshman in understanding a concept. The classroom book they received from school is of a theorectical nature and having this as a supplement to their learning has helped. We can spend a few minutes skimming over the material in this book and then further discuss the concept for understanding. The book is nicely laid out in sections and has followed the progression of material learned in class. It also seems to "sum up" concepts at the end of a section, so if you only have time to get a quick understanding or need to "brush up" again on a concept, it is easy to do. I am recommending this book to friends.

Guess it's good for someone who has a general understanding of geometry ...
Guess it's good for someone who has a general understanding of geometry but hasn't been helpful to my 15 year old. Guess I was expecting too much from a book.

Comprehensive
This guide present many helpful examples that are clearly explained. The chapter on SAS, SSS, AA are very helpful. It also includes a helpful framework for doing proofs. My son has benefited tremendously from the explanations an examples. I would highly recommend as a supplement course notes.

Helped with common core geometry
My son's school switched to "common core geometry" this year. The other students are lost and the teacher doesn't seem to know how to teach this latest theory (at parents night we were told that this new "new math" will make our children MUCH smarter but she couldn't even explain what common core geometry is or how it's different from the regular geometry). But..... MY son is doing great, thanks to Tutor in a Book and he even LIKES the class. The person who wrote this book knows geometry and knows how to teach it. As for common core geometry it looks like it's the same material but done in a different order. My son read the last chapter of the tutor book first and then understood what was going on in the class. I recommend this book, it's very good.
