TAP TO TURN: When you’re making a turn, simply tap the corresponding button on the included wireless handlebar remote. Even with the Lumos bicycle helmet - You should still make the appropriate hand signal when you’re making a turn!
FULL STOP: If the Hard Brake Light feature (currently in beta) is activated, 38 LEDs on the back of this adult bike helmet will glow solid red, making it abundantly clear to anyone behind you that you’re slowing down. Note that this feature is deactivated by default to save battery life.
GET NOTICED ON THE ROAD: With 10 white LEDs on the front, 38 red LEDs on the back, and 11 orange LEDs for each turn signal - drivers, pedestrians, and other cyclists alike are going to see you coming when you’re wearing a Lumos Helmet. Lumos is the world's first smart bike helmet that beautifully integrates lights, hard brake, turn signals, and helmet into a single cohesive whole -- an elegant solution for your safety and visibility. No wonder we've won so many awards! LEDs All The Way Around: With 10 white lights in the front, 38 red in the rear, and 11 orange on each side, they'll see you coming no matter where they are. Make Predictable Turns: The included handlebar remote takes the uncertainty out of turning at night. Just push the button before you turn, and everyone will know where you're going. "Hard Brake Light" (currently in beta): The remote also has a built-in sensor that can tell when you're slowing down. The helmet can then activate all 38 solid LEDs in back to warn anyone behind you. (Note: this feature is off by default to conserve battery.) The Convenience Factor: The helmet battery lasts about six hours in flashing mode and three in solid mode meaning that for most commutes you can get away with charging it just once or twice a week. Charging via the included magnetic charging cable takes just two hours. Ultimate Control: With the IOS and Android app, you can change settings, view your battery status and download any future firmware updates we provide at no cost. amazing a MUST for any cyclist who wants to be seen and stay safe

I needed a helmet for my 1st bike since i was a kid, i didn't want just any old helmet, i wanted one that could use in day or night and could help me stay safe, so after lots of research on helmets, i found out about this Lumos helmet and i have to say its absolutely amazing, after adjusting the straps to your requirements it feels really comfortable on the head, i have added my camera ( tomtom bandit) to it which adds weight but after a few rides i dont notice this differencethe lights are really bright enough to be seen, the indicators work really well, i just havnt used the brake light function yet.the app is so simple and a good idea it would be a good idea if LUMOS could make the app tell you more things about your journey tho.the only thing i would change about it if anything is give it a better battery life.

An Impressive Safety Helmet

Excellent safety helmet. Very comfortable to wear. Lights are bright & can be seen in daylight. When riding early in the morning or at dusk lights become very present indeed. Indicators are extremely impressive that can be seen by motorists from the front & rear. A bit expensive but if you ride a lot & ride early or late this helmet is a winner. Personally I feel more confident on the road in various weather conditions.

Excellent helmet

An excellent product. I have been looking for something like this for a while. I cycle in town and on country roads and I know this helmet will ensure that I’m seen and it is very comfortable. It is expensive, but it is worth it.

all incredibly easy..

Been using this for a year - got it on the Kickstarter. I go out weekly for rides of 3+ hours, and I normally get back with it being in the 60% battery remaining (you can see it via the phone app). I use the slow flashing mode, which I think uses the least battery. I do not use the braking light feature, as my son tells me that it's triggered when I go over potholes etc. Settings, pairing, firmware upgrading ... all incredibly easy ... I really really like this helmet although it's not as comfortable as the KASK I used to use before. But I'll take the Lumus anyway as my balance sucks and I feel safer with the helmet indicators.
