Dance Dance Revolution Regular Dance Pad for Sony Playstation2 PS/PS2

Was Skeptical At First, Due Entirely To Other Reviews About The Pad. As Soon As It Arrived (When It Said It Would) I Immediately Took It Out Of It’s Secured Packaging To Test The Pad. Right From The Box, It Worked Without A Hitch. Just Plug N’ Play. No USB Slot (Thankfully). Very Responsive, It Does Slide On Carpet, But I Expected As Such. If You’re Interested In Buying A Pad, You Can’t Go Wrong With This One. For The Price And Packaging Alone, Is Worth It. It Doesn’t Feel Cheap, And The Cord Is A Generous Length. 5/5 Would Buy Again!

Bought a second dance pad so I could play with my friends. Then I realized I have no friends. Now it’s my back up dance pad in case my main one breaks. Works great. Wish I had friends to play with though. :(

A more accurate rating is probably a 3.5; the first dance pad I received didn't work at ALL and the plug seemed almost like it didn't fit the port for my PS2 (I had a lot of trouble plugging it in at first for some reason, although I didn't force it in). The second one I received - after returning the first - works perfectly. A minor drawback is that the manual is in pretty poorly translated English, but it's not difficult to understand. One thing to keep in mind with this dance mat is that you WILL need the sticky cardboard pieces that come with it, as this dance pad is pretty slippery. I've been playing for nearly a decade without utilizing them, but I found after playing some fast-paced songs - as well as some other miscellaneous songs on heavy - that the pad bunches up and moves around much more easily than I've been used to.

I play on heavy/challenge mode. On this pad, it's difficult to keep up on those step charts. I've found that if you want to play songs on those difficulties, playing anything under 140BPM is good for keeping the pad stable. After that it's like a slip and slide. I didn't use the stickers provided because I didn't want to permanently affix the pad to the floor, so maybe you could play at a higher BPM if you use those. Because I don't take this game as seriously as I used to, I had no problem with my pride when I went down to standard mode and tested it out. Standard offered a nice balance of difficulty and pad stability. I haven't had any issues with steps not registering. The port plug also had some bent pins upon arrival but I plugged it in anyway and it worked, so maybe I got lucky. Either way, if I had to, I'd buy another just as a spare. *EDIT* It's now January 2021. I started playing again recently and after prolonged folded storage, the down button works when it wants to. I put it away with no issues, but now it's pretty frustrating. Just be careful if/when/how you choose to store this thing. I'll probably buy another one.

Got this to play DDRMax2. It absolutely works but it’s very slippery and it doesn’t stay still. It comes with little adhesive stickers but once you use them once you can’t use them again.

I may end up opening this up to see if I can fix it(I did and edited this review below). The X button and left arrow button seem to overlap somehow. I was trying to buy something in the game and I kept going back to the previous screen. I ended up plugging in a controller to get the item I wanted. I also will know I hit a button and it will miss, messing up my combo. Which is super annoying since I would get a perfect score on a lot of the songs in the past. Edit: Adjusting this to one star. I kept trying to use it and it basically was unusable with how many buttons overlapped. I had to use a PS2 controller to select songs and all other menu items. I got so irritated that I seam ripped it open to see if I could adjust anything. There are no separate pads or wires inside to adjust/fix. It went in the trash after figuring out there was no fixing it. Money wasted :(

Is remembering old times my daughters are grown so they love it . Is worth it

Everything works! Matt moves alot more then I remember when I was a kid. But just remember to look down and make sure your on the right arrows! Haha.
