There are lines on the flat top of the water spout from my paint brush, but only in appearance (I used a smaller smooth craft paint brush to minimize texture.) It looks like a brushed steel but black, so I don't mind at all. All things painted are smooth to the touch--no texture or raised paint lines. I plan to update with use. So far so good! I let the first coat cure about 2 days and another 2 for the second. It seemed like the second coat dried faster, so you will have less time to work with it and smooth it out with your paint brush. I am very impressed with the finish on the knobs because they have ridges for grip, yet the paint dried so smooth. The only con so far is the finish really attracts dust and this is an ongoing workspace (drywall repair), so dust is inevitable. Perhaps I am wrong about this but I would never use it on a "wall." If you let me know what type of wall you will be painting I would be happy to try to answer.
