The Best Pot Ever!
We just got this to try, after our old drip pot went bye bye. This is awesome!!! It is easy to clean, can just rinse and dump grounds into outdoor pots or garden beds and they love the nitrogen, so no grounds ever going in sinks, garbage disposal or dishwasher anymore. Every piece is dishwasher safe and so it's easy to keep clean (unlike the coffee maker) and it will last forever. All parts are stainless steel. Since you only add hot water, you can set it up the night before and you can use it anywhere. Camping, back patio, anywhere. It makes better tasting coffee too. You can refine smoothness by adding mesh filters (included), so if you like smooth, go with 3, if more bite, go to 1 or 2. They are all dishwasher safe. It's thermal, so keeps warm. I can take it out to the patio and slurp coffee as I paint or garden. I love this one! I have had cheaper french presses that left grounds in my coffee. This one doesn't. It has an excellent seal (and I am picky about this). It is 50 oz, so normal pot size. Good for guests or 2 coffee enthusiasts. I just love it!!! It also looks sleek, so it not only is good for making the coffee, it works great for serving guests. I will probably buy a second one for loose teas, including various blends for iced teas. It is fun to take guests to the garden & grab flowers and herbs, add hot water and voila! fresh garden tea, hot or pour and wait an hour, then add ice. It's faster than waiting for sun tea. I may use 2 for coffee, so I can alternate days, washing one while using the other. I not only recommend this 50 oz pot for everyone, I plan to get another for myself. This is one of those best finds that you wish you had years ago!

Excellent Insulated French Press for Multiple Cups
My husband and I absolutely love this Secura French Press. The fifty ounce size is perfect for us and easily makes five full cups of coffee or six if you pour them a little lighter. It is great for slow mornings together or when we want more than just a single cup. The stainless steel build feels very high quality and it is extremely well insulated. Our coffee stays hot for about two hours, which is a huge plus. The filter is excellent and so far we have had no issues with grounds slipping through, which has been a problem with other French presses we have owned. The only thing to be aware of is pressure. If you fill it too high and do not turn the arrow to release the pressure before pressing, the coffee and grounds can pop out. As long as you release the pressure properly, it works perfectly and is not an issue at all. Overall we are very happy with this purchase and use it regularly. It looks great, works beautifully, and makes delicious coffee. We would absolutely buy it again and recommend it to anyone looking for a high quality insulated French press.

The saga of finding the perfect coffee maker . . .
Been using my new coffee makers for a few weeks and I am very pleased with them. Yum, there's nothing like a good cup of coffee. My eight year old Cuisinart automatic drip with thermal carafe was failing so I started researching auto drip coffee makers. My old machine was the Cuisinart that had a built in coffee grinder however I had given up grinding the beans with the machine after a few months of using it because for some reason I'd find the brewed coffee had overflowed all over the counter, cabinets and floor and I'd have a huge mess to clean up. It had something to do with the grinder and didn't happen every time but I dreaded it so when I stopped using the grinder it never overflowed again. While checking the reviews for every auto drip with thermal carafe I could find, that was the first thing I looked for and sure enough many people complained about this happening to them due to some stupid design flaw. It seems most of them had this problem so they were eliminated from consideration. That pretty much left one Zojirushi machine but it's expensive and it had other problems that made me hesitate. So I kept looking. It took weeks and I figured if my Cuisinart stopped working I'd just live with instant because I couldn't make up my mind. It was so frustrating. I looked into presses too but it was so hard to decide due to the problems people pointed out in the reviews. I finally decided against a glass press because somebody said theirs exploded while pressing down on the plunger giving them third degree burns. Even the remotest possibility of this happening to me was enough to say nope. So based on the 1500 ml size and the great reviews I finally decided on this press. Just in case, I also bought a 10 cup Melitta manual drip coffee maker thinking that I might not like something about the press like the cleaning of it or whatever. I love the coffee press! I finally have the recipe and technique down and it makes delicious coffee. I got rid of my old Cuisinart grinder and bought the Cuisinart burr grinder. I set it for the largest grind and dump it on a piece of wax paper. When the water boils I immediately pour it into the empty pot and let it sit there for a minute to heat up the pot. I pour the water back into the electric kettle and test the water temp. Doing that cools the water to about 200 degrees. I pour the ground coffee into the pot, start the timer for five minutes, pour in the water, wait 30 to 45 seconds and stir it. Then finish steeping and plunge. I immediately pour the cups and put the rest of the coffee in a vacuum carafe. It's fast and easy to make. As far as the clean up it's not as daunting as I thought it would be. I don't like to waste water so I heat up some in the microwave. Meanwhile I rinse the plunger mechanism under the faucet to get off as many grounds as possible. I take it apart and put the pieces in a small bowl in the sink. The long plunger/lid piece is rinsed and dried. I dump the grounds out of the pot into the trash and wipe the rest out with a paper towel. I pour the hot water into the bowl and the pot and add dish liquid. After washing I rinse and dry all the components and set the plunger pieces on the windowsill to dry more thoroughly. I haven't timed it but I would say the whole clean up process takes about five or six minutes. As for the Melitta, it makes great coffee too. I set the grinder in the middle between fine and medium. I've found the actual coffee making process to be more time consuming than the press because you have to be standing there pouring the water into the filter and it takes about ten minutes. I tend to get distracted if I walk away to do something else and can forget to come back to pour more water in. On the other hand however, the cleanup is much easier. The cone and lid go in the dishwasher and I simply wash and dry the pot by hand. I like that my hand fits inside to clean it. I also like that the lid comes apart for thorough cleaning. That is something that always bugged me about the Cuisinart, the thought of all that crud building up inside the lid is gross. I even called them once to complain about that. I'm so glad to be rid of it. In conclusion, the press is faster and easier to make coffee but more time consuming to clean up. The Melitta manual drip is more time consuming to make the coffee but a snap to clean up. Also, the Melitta makes a little bit more coffee than the press. Each method is worth the time and effort for the great coffee they produce. Additionally, both units were very inexpensive and they should last for years without any disgusting muck building up inside that's impossible to clean.

A great way to switch from plastics! Solid choice.
Bought this to replace a black and decker electric drip. So glad! While it only makes enough for me to have about 2.5 mugs of coffee, not enough for me, husband and mom, it is delicious and easy to make more pretty quickly. Brew strength is great- depends on what you like, I'm not into overly-leaded. Doesn't leak. Decent value for stainless steel, and kept coffee hot for a while for hubby who drinks his black. I'm a fancy-pants kinda girl with heavy whipping cream and even some foam on top. :) So far, very pleased with this. Put it on counter to replace the other, and I use the cosori gooseneck electric kettle, which is also only about a week into my routine. Love it as well! Don't hesitate- grab one of these french presses- you won't be disappointed!

Way better than infuser method
I don't drink coffee but I make some form of herb tea daily. I really like this French Press for tea. It is fast, easy to clean, I think it extracts more goodness than putting loose tea in pourous infuser and steeping. Its attractive and makes a little less than 2 quarts.

Very good, but not great
Very beautiful with a couple minor faults (in my opinion). Flawless stainless steel inside and out. Two extra screens provided. I preheated the pot with hot tap water, then dumped, added my coffee right away (course ground...and nothing worth mentioning got past the single screen into our cups...the manual suggests doubling up the screens should you desire...maybe useful for finer ground coffee) then poured in my just off the boil water. First nit to pick...the under side of the lid has an angled raised section that you, I guess, should line up with the spout when pouring. It takes up about one quarter of the underside circle of the lid....but, there is really no reason to rotate that around to the spout, because the rest of the lid does not come down far enough into the pot to prevent pouring. Here is the first design flaw, in my opinion. Why? Because heat rises and precious thermal waves are allowed to escape out the top of the pot no matter how you have the lid rotated. My solution? I doubled up a kitchen towel lengthwise and wrapped it around the spout and tucked it under the handle to block the free flow of heat. Second design flaw...it is a double walled thermos type container, but the outside walls did become warm to the touch...so...heat is escaping through the walls of the pot...disappointing as it speaks to the insulation efficiency, or lack thereof. All that being said, with my towel wrapped around the spout, a nearly full pot (probably 1250ml) of coffee stayed acceptably hot for almost an hour, which is about twice as long as my old single wall glass french press wrapped in two layers of dish towels. For the next pot, I may go to a full wrap of towels for extra insulation...I wonder if anyone makes a neoprene wrap that would fit this pot?

Well made stainless steel product - highly recommend!
This French press coffee maker is great. My husband and I love it and previously for years always had a drip coffee maker, but decided to try a French press and we were not disappointed. It is larger than most of the French press makers and that works well for us. We do use more coffee beans than we did with a drip maker, but don't mind for we feel the coffee tastes better & richer. We like dark roast and strong coffee so we can make it how we like it. You will need to experiment how long you want your coffee to steep. Once it is finished steeping we transfer the coffee to a coffee carafe to keep it hot enough. We also purchased a special coffee grinder - a burr grinder - so that we can grind our own beans to perfection! We previously used a blade grinder but it is not precise enough for a French press. You must grind your own coffee beans with a French press; already ground coffee, it is much too fine for making coffee this way. The burr grinder has settings for the many ways one can make coffee so is very precise in its grinding ability. A French press calls for the coarsest setting on the burr grinder and it is hard to get the beans just right with a blade grinder. Not impossible, but more difficult. This French press is easy to clean and we often put it in our dishwasher. One word of advice: you will need to keep some of the round mesh pieces that come with the press on hand for they do wear out and need to be replaced. This press came with three extra, but you will need more within a few months or so. We happily recommend this French press!

Perfect size for 4 people, very high quality and well thought out design
This french press is top notch. First of all, it was the biggest french press that we could find that was practical. It also has a lot of features that I appreciate and I'll outline them in no particular order: There is a bottom metal ring on the bottom that is separate from the hot beverage layer, which keeps the bottom of the french press relatively cool for you to put it down without a hot plate. The press bottoms out well before the top of the bed of grounds preventing you from compressing it. The spout works well and does not allow coffee to dribble down the front. The filter works as well as a french press can be expected to function and the assembly is easily taken apart for easy washing. The included spare filter is also much appreciated. The unit's inner chamber is also wide enough for us men to get our XL mitts inside to clean it properly.
