## Description

Philips Hue Go 2.0 Smart Portable Light, 1 Pack | White and Colour Ambiance Light, Smart LED, Rechargable, Up to 18 Hours of Light, Dimmable, Bluetooth App Control, Smart Home : desertcart.co.uk: Computers & Accessories

Review: Great outdoor light, versatile can be used indoors - We have a large number of smart bulbs and sockets in the house, many of which are Phillips. We do have a Phillips hub, and we use Alexa. We spend many evenings outside in summer and wanted a coloured light to add to the other lights we have out there. We also plan to use it indoors. I was concerned about some reviews saying it needs charging after every use. We have had this 3 days now, and after only one charge it has been on every night. The light can be operated from Alexa, although the colour choice is limited. Using the Phillips app gives lots of colour choices. We have kept the brightness level quite low as that seems to work best outside. Operating the colours manually offers a few “scene” choices like candlelight, but these are not replicated on the app for some reason. You can create the look you want though, using the app. I think this looks lovely outside, and it will add some colour and atmosphere to an outdoor party. It was expensive, but we are pleased with it.
Review: Love them - I bought this to add to my growing list of Hue lights and bulbs, I use them mainly linked with my ambilight TV and they follow the screen without any lag, they really do add to the already great Ambilight experience. When my TV is off I use them for any of the many preset scenes and even bought a Music app' that looks great, it takes me back to my old disco days, lol. This unit is bright and has the added feature of being portable which if we ever get another warm evening up here in the north east, haha, will be nice to have it lit up on our patio table. You don't need the app' for basic functions so that you can change the colour just by pressing the button on the unit but for full functionality and linking to multi light scenes you do need to use the free app' I would like these to be a bit less expensive but they are by far the best smart light I have ever used so I guess you get what you pay for and when finances allow I will be adding more.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Is it possible to hang this light on a wall?**
A: I don't think its possible to wall mount. They are designed to be placed on flat surfaces really.

**Q: Mine doesn’t work with Alexa. Does anyone else have this problem?**
A: I too keep having this problem. Product help says to delete the light in the Alexa app and add it again. I’ve done this a couple of times and then gave up because it was such a pain. I now use the Philips hue Bluetooth app on my phone to program the wake & sleep functions and also to switch it on and change the colour. There goes my routine of leaving my phone downstairs when I sleep!

**Q: Can this hue light be used to extend the range of my hue bridge? My hue bridge doesn't cover whole home but I've heard that the lights act as repeater**
A: I can’t be 100% sure with this light but as a rule Zigbee devices do act as repeaters so long as they are of the powered type and not battery. As this has both a battery and can be left powered it has a bit of both.
I have 3 of these lights around my home as well as other Hue lights and so far I haven’t had any connection problems even with bulbs that are well away from the hub.
Hope that helps.

**Q: Is this the most recent version of the hue go? I can see another product listing without a version number.**
A: This is the most recent version. We will look into amending/deleting this other listing you mentioned.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Pricey for what it is, but you get what you pay for
*by N***N on 29 April 2026*

This is the perfect bedside lamp in my opinion. While the cost of Philips Hue products is always pricey - even before the Hub, required to integrate with Google Home, Alexa, etc - the Hue Go 2 is worth it. I have a Google Home automation to have the light slowly brighten to a warm white over 5 minutes to emulate a sunrise, and it works very nicely. The battery life only lasts a few hours, so I just leave it plugged in permanently. It's a nice size - not too big, not too small - but it can be flimsy to keep upright as the straight area of the base is quite small.
