Engineered with pure oxygen-free copper and QED’s evolved X-Tube™ technology, it delivers precise stereo imaging and superior timing. The addition of the innovative Air Gap dielectric ensures an exceptional level of rhythmic accuracy and musicality at a competitive price point. Low DC resistance allows for unmatched frequency response, setting new standards for audio clarity. Ideal for long cable runs, the XT40i maintains high-quality sound across its length. When factory pre-terminated, it comes equipped with Airloc Heat Shrink 4mm Banana Plugs for optimal connection. Whether connecting your AV receiver or home cinema amplifier to your speakers, the XT40i is designed to elevate your listening experience—offering clarity, balance, and natural musical presentation that outperforms competitors many times its price. ## Features - As befits a company rapidly closing in on its fifth decades at the forefront of speaker cable design, QED’s brand new XT40i speaker cable builds on the formidable reputation of the XT40 cable it replaces and offers a decisive step up in sound quality. - Air Gap dielectric increases the separation of the conductors inside the cable, and therefore the amount of air between them, QED has created a low-loss Air Gap dielectric. This technology halves the dissipation and capacitance characteristics of the cable, and results in numerous audible improvements - particularly where timing and rhythmic accuracy are concerned. Despite this increased separation, though, XT40i retains the sort of cross-sectional area that makes it ideal for long cable runs. - X-Tube technology Forming the cable conductors into a tube-like shape around a hollow insulating rod in the centre of the cable equalises current densities, delivers very low inductance and presents a consistent, even load to an amplifier. The result is a cable that retains more of the finest musical details, that handles rhythms and tempos in the most natural and musically satisfying way. - Technical Specifications:- Outside diameter: 6 x 14 mm, Conductor area: 4 mm², Dielectric properties: Air Gap (εr = 2.4), Conductor chemistry: 99.999% oxygen-free copper, Dielectric properties: Air Gap, Loop resistance: 8.0 mΩ/m, Parallel capacitance: 35 pF/m, Dissipation factor @ 10kHz: 0.0295, Self-inductance: 0.57 μH/m ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | Asin | B07YTZW7YC | | Best Sellers Rank | 24,396 in Electronics & Photo (See Top 100 in Electronics & Photo) 183 in Speaker Cables | | Brand | QED | | Cable Type | DVI | | Colour | Black, Grey, Red | | Compatible Devices | Amplifiers, Speakers | | Compatible Phone Models | No Compatible Phone Models | | Connector Gender | Male-to-Male | | Connector Type | DVI | | Country Of Origin | Taiwan | | Customer Package Type | protective packaging | | Customer Reviews | 4.4 4.4 out of 5 stars (75) 4.4 out of 5 stars | | Eu Spare Part Availability Duration | 2 Years | | Gauge | 12 | | Included Components | Pre-Terminated Speaker Cable | | Indoor Outdoor Usage | Indoor | | Item Length | 3 Metres | | Item Shape | Round | | Item Weight | 0.3 Kilograms | | Manufacturer | QED | | Manufacturer Part Number | QE1453 | | Maximum Voltage | 100 Millivolts | | Model Name | XT40i | | Model Number | QE1453 | | Number Of Items | 1 | | Number Of Pins | 24 | | Other Special Features Of The Product | X-Tube Technology | | Recommended Uses For Product | connecting speakers to audio amplifiers or receivers | | Specification Met | IEEE, RoHS, UL | | Unit Count | 3.0 meter | ## Product Details - **Brand:** QED - **Connector type:** DVI - **Cable type:** DVI - **Compatible devices:** Amplifiers, Speakers - **Special feature:** X-Tube Technology ## Images ![3m Pair of QED XT40i Reference Speaker Cable with X-Tube Technology Terminated with Airloc Banana Plugs (3m Terminated Pair) - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/81K7aFYRRqL.jpg) ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Well worth the purchase - go get em! *by on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 14 March 2025* Great speaker cables, well worth the purchase.I have been running these cables for around 1 year - Oddly enough this was the last upgrade I did to my setup and I know what everyone says "golden ears" but they actually did make a good improvement to the overall sound quality.... perhaps I should of bought these first!? ;-) ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great improvement very unexpected *by on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 14 May 2021* I did honestly think they would not live up to expectations,......however I have a mid range linn /Naim system which in all fairness sounded pretty good before the cables arrived . I fitted them and had a listen and omg ! There is so much more going on the bass has tightened up but with my old ears the main thing I was looking for was more info in the mid top which I have got, the depth of the sound stage has doubled ! wish I had got 3.5m as the right speaker lead has no spare . I am running a vintage pair of naim SBL’s. I say .. great value and it does not break the bank . ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Qed *by on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 28 May 2025* Fast delivery, product as described. Sound became more detailed. Good cables. ## Frequently Bought Together - QED Reference XT40i Speaker Cables (9.8 ft l 3M) - Q Acoustics 3050i Floorstanding Speaker English Walnut (Price displayed is for 1 Unit, for Complete Pair Please Order 2 Units) Stereo Speakers for Surround Sound/Home Theater - Mediabridge ULTRA Series Subwoofer Cable (15 Feet) - Dual Shielded with Gold Plated RCA to RCA Connectors - Black --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.no/products/164031449-3m-pair-of-qed-xt40i-reference-speaker-cable-with-x](https://www.desertcart.no/products/164031449-3m-pair-of-qed-xt40i-reference-speaker-cable-with-x) --- *Product available on Desertcart Norway* *Store origin: NO* *Last updated: 2026-10-08*
