Seymour Duncan SSL-5 Custom Staggered Pickup Features at a Glance: High-output single-coil Stratocaster pickup Delivers true single-coil Strat tone with more output Sounds best with heavier, brighter-toned ash or alder guitars Great for Texas blues rock, classic ## Features - David Gilmour needed a pumped-up sound for his famous Black Strat, so Seymour wound what became the Custom Staggered medium-output Stratocaster pickup. It has been, and continues to be, an honor to work with such a legend. The Custom Staggered is a special overwound single-coil that strikes a great balance between increased output and classic Stratocaster tonal character. - It will deliver bigger, fatter chords, and will cut through the mix more clearly than a traditional Strat pickup, all the while maintaining the magic and mojo that make a Strat sound like a Strat. Single notes are bold and loud, and solos truly sing. - The Custom Staggered Strat pickup is also available in a 7-string version. The bobbins are built with hand-ground Alnico 5 rod magnets, lacquered and wound, and are wax potted for squeal-free performance. We use modern oval Forbon flatwork (non-triangular) which enables this pickup to fit into any guitar that is routed for single coils. - Handmade in Santa Barbara, California: Seymour Duncan takes pride in designing and crafting our products to create the most amazing sound possible. That starts with providing an environment that attracts and retains our great team of engineers, product designers and craftsmen, many of whom have been with the company for decades. - DCR Neck: 13.30, DCR Middle: 13.30, DCR Bridge: 13.30, Magnet: Alnico 5, PVC Lead Wire Cable ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B000CF4RN4 | | Back Material Type | Alder Wood or Ash Wood | | Best Sellers Rank | #17,189 in Musical Instruments ( See Top 100 in Musical Instruments ) #92 in Electric Guitar Pickups & Pickup Covers | | Body Material | Alder Wood or Ash Wood | | Body Material Type | Alder Wood or Ash Wood | | Brand | Seymour Duncan | | Brand Name | Seymour Duncan | | Color | White cover, PVC Lead Wire | | Connector Type | 2 conductors | | Customer Reviews | 4.6 out of 5 stars 273 Reviews | | Fretboard Material Type | Rosewood | | Global Trade Identification Number | 00800315002528 | | Guitar Bridge System | Fixed | | Guitar Pickup Configuration | S | | Hand Orientation | Right | | Included Components | Pickup only | | Instrument | Guitar | | Instrument Size | Neck/Middle/Bridge | | Item Dimensions | 7.09 x 3.54 x 1.57 inches | | Item Highlight | Custom Staggered Strat tone adds Gilmour-style punch, sustain and muscular mids while preserving bright detail. | | Item Weight | 1.6 ounces | | Manufacturer | Seymour Duncan | | Manufacturer Part Number | ESD SSL-5 | | Material Type | Alder Wood Ash Wood Maple Wood | | Model Name | SSL-5 | | Model Number | SSSL-5 | | Model Series | Custom | | Neck Material Type | Maple | | Number of Items | 1 | | Number of Packs | 1 | | Number of Strings | 6 | | Scale Length | 25.5 inches | | String Material Type | Nickel | | Top Material Type | Alder Wood, Ash Wood, Maple Wood, Rosewood | | UPC | 800315002528 | | Unit Count | 1 Count | | Warranty Description | 2-year warranty. | ## Product Details - **Back Material Type:** Alder Wood or Ash Wood - **Body Material:** Alder Wood or Ash Wood - **Brand:** Seymour Duncan - **Color:** White - **Fretboard Material Type:** Rosewood - **Guitar Pickup Configuration:** S - **Hand Orientation:** Right - **Neck Material Type:** Maple - **String Material Type:** Nickel - **Top Material Type:** Alder Wood, Ash Wood, Maple Wood, Rosewood ## Images ![Custom Staggered Strat - Neck/Middle/Bridge - White - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/41XEf6NpoqL.jpg) ## Available Options This product comes in different **Color, Size** options. ## Frequently Bought Together - Seymour Duncan SSL-5 Custom Staggered Pole Neck/Bridge/Middle Strat Single Coil - Seymour Duncan SSL-1 Vintage Staggered Pole Strat Pickup - Fender Original 250k Splitshaft Potentiometer, Volume or Tone --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.no/products/1638267-custom-staggered-strat-neck-middle-bridge-white](https://www.desertcart.no/products/1638267-custom-staggered-strat-neck-middle-bridge-white) --- *Product available on Desertcart Norway* *Store origin: NO* *Last updated: 2026-11-01*
