How do they justify the high price tag? Is it that elegant in quality? or is it just because it's the only offering to be had?

It is the old saying, 'supply and demand'. The price is driven by the demand for the short supply what is yet available. Crazy, huh?

Could you please tell me is it made in China? My kid loves it but I do not buy toys of China.

Yes the pigeon is made in China, it is however up to US standards. If your son loves the pigeon book , he will truely love this pigeon. It is high quality too.

Can the voice box be replaced? I have one but the voice box quit. What can I do?

The manufacturer did not create with a Velcro opening, so to replace the batteries you would need to do sewing surgery.
