I think my biggest concern is that it is hot to touch on top once in use. I have several times accidentally almost burned myself when pulling toast out. I'm afraid not to others when I have them in the kitchen. As far as the performance job, it does very well. I'm happy with how it has browned (not burned) toast. I don't anticipate this lasting long, but who knows, I may be surprised? It does feel cheap, but I also got it for a good deal.
