I typically use this flash light under the hood of numerous car repairs, during power outages, and even while fixing water leaks. There are multiple options (4 types of lights) and for each light you can zoom the light in and out. The shifting between the zoom levels is rather smooth. It feels very secure. The 4 modes are all powerful so I suggest not looking directly into the lights. The Black Light is just as powerful during the day as it typically is during the night. What I love the most about it is the durability of the flash light. I have dropped it plenty of times and it was not effected. As a little detailed benefit of the flash light, the lense itself is protected from being damaged. There are protective ridges on the edges. So, if you were to drop the flash light at the position of the lense hitting the ground the ridges would prevent the impact. Lastly, Im a huge button fan! So the LARGE GREEN button cant be missed and you are able to hear the clicks within each light change.
