A: Yes, it is dishwasher safe.

**Q: Is it dishwasher safe ?**
A: I haven't put mine in the dishwasher.  I always boil water and put it in that a little past the blades.  I think the write up on it says that the cover is dishwasher safe, but I never saw where it says that the whole unit is.  So I don't put mine in the dishwasher, just boil the blades as recommended for one minute.  Just so you know it is one of the best purchase I have ever made.  Used to never liked sirloin steaks because never tender enough.  Now I love them.

A: The Chef Master 90009 Professional Meat Tenderizer comes equipped with 48 2-inch blades.They will go as deep as they are forced to go.Some meats are softer and will allow you to push the blades in deeper than thicker/tougher meats.

I cooked a steak for dinner, and it was really tough, which was disappointing. I had purchased the meat tenderizer tool for my niece, and she said it worked well. So, I purchased it and used it on the next steak I prepared. It worked great. The steak was tender. I will say that pressing down on the tool into the meat requires a bit of a push, but the results are worth it.

I bought one of these at a restaurant supply store several years ago and we loved it. We grill a lot of venison and this makes it so completely tender and lets the marinade work much better. Other family members asked our secret to such good steaks and once told, they all bought one too. The two large screws that hold the piece together became loose over time and trying to screw them in tighter just eventually made them break through the plastic on the other side. I searched Amazon for the same unit and didn't find it, so ordered another brand. It lasted 6 uses before the plastic housing broke apart. A more diligent search of Amazon lead to finding the original brand of what we had (this one) and we ordered a new one. It works great, just like the old one did. If they can upgrade the part where the two big screws hold the plastic housing so they don't get loose, I would be in for 5 stars. Even with that flaw, it's the best one out there.
