Kayak Seat

I bought this kayak seat to throw on an old beater kayak I use for duck hunting and fishing every now and then. It originally was just the plastic seat and a sub-par backrest that desperately needed replacing. Being that this particular kayak won't be winning any beauty contests any time soon, I didn't really care too much what it looked like. I liked the price of this one and the positive reviews. Upon getting it, I took it out of the box, set it in the kayak, riveted some eyelets to the boat to snap the chairs hooks to, and 'wallah', I have a much more comfortable seat now. I really like that the back rest is a little higher and it is rigid enough to be supportive. All in all very happy with the purchase, even if it does look a little too fancy for my rig.

The seat looks and feels well made. The straps are designed to use the unit as a replacement seat. I, however, am using it over the hinged plastic seat in my Walden Vision. Without any modifications, I found a way to use the straps to anchor it in place. The Vision has a very small opening, a narrow seat, and a very short backrest. This seat is sufficiently flexible to accommodate all those restrictions and provide vastly improved comfort in the 2 to 4 miles I paddle daily.

I am using this in a 12' fishing Kayak. Though it is definitely better than some of similar styled seats due to its thicker bottom cushion, there are some things that knocked it down a star. First, is the straps. The webbing material seems cheap and I hope they hold up to the environment, because if they fail, the seat is no longer usable. The material is also pretty stiff, which makes adjusting it extremely difficult. The other thing is that if your kayak has a curved back (like most), the back storage compartment is unusable. Not to mention, again, the material appears to be cheap and there are no larger pull tabs or even pull cords added to the zippers, so good luck using it while you are in the kayak. That aside, the seat is pretty comfortable once you set it up (be sure to take your time to adjust it). The bottom padding is thick, but not overly cushioned so you don't sink into it.

It's hard to find a balance of being light weight, functional and really comfortable at the same time. The seat is great, but depending on how long you plan on being out on the water, you might need a little extra cushion on the bottom part of the seal to help your tailbone. The back support is fantastic, but when it comes to how much you butt pushes through the seat and hits the plastic of the kayak, it does completely depress it. This was with my 100 lb, 14 year old daughter riding it. I'm couldn't even tell you how this would be with my 220 lbs in the seat. It does fold down nicely and the backpack is a big plus, but you are buying a seat for more comfort and support, so think about this when you think of ordering this one.

My cushion came off and the back support started to get loose from the plastic holders and kept falling off. Needed a new combo seat & backrest and came upon this. It was the perfect fit! Its very comfortable and I am happy with the purchase. Note: I did do some mods/McGuyver-ing to the seat (actually did this once on a old sit-in kayak years ago)... So I flipped it over and used some Marine Goop around the seams of the stitching and let it dry for 24-hours. Next, I used a small drill bit to make a hole through the seat and into the kayak. Then, I used 3/16 rivets to pop the seat and sandwich it to the kayak. Now, the seat is secure and it looks great as well as provided a comfortable ride on the water.

Hi I just bought this Woo Wave kayak seat I love it ! I am a bigger man 6ft 250 lbs it has completely changed my kayak experience. It is so comfortable that being in it for a long time I have zero back pains. It’s an easy install with four hooks to your kayak. Once the straps are adjusted just electric tape the ends. You simply can clip and unclip the seat to your kayak with ease every time . This is my first review on any product I have ever bought. I highly recommend this seat to anyone who would want their kayak experience to be better it’s made my trips better 10 fold. Great product.

I put this on a 10' SUP and it works really well. I have enjoyed using it. It is very comfortable to sit in for a long time. However, to attach it to the SUP, I had to purchase 3 additional heavy duty carabiners per strap to make them long enough to fit.

I liked how easy it was to install and that it folds while still attached to the board. The only thing I didn't like was the pouch at the back had couple of holds in the and almost lost my keys make sure you check before use. Other than that I love it.
