It's solid brass. It comes disassembled so you have to put it together yourself. But no worries. A child with half a mind could figure it out. The cup is pretty deep and holds a bit of oil. Probably 1/3-1/2 cup fluid ounces? It has a little handle that you can position whichever way is most comfortable to you. With the little ring up or down. Once you see it you'll know what I'm talking about. It uses wicks that you can purchase on Amazon, but honestly I think most people use cotton kite string/twine. The little wicks I have bought before in my local Indian market are made of this weird felt type of material that you need to twist to make it fit in the little device that holds the wick. So guess what? I'm just going to be using the twine from here on. It's cheaper and works better. So for under ten bucks this is a very nice brass Aarati to use for daily puja. If you're careful you can wave the lamp around properly like you should when performing the ritual. I think this was a great deal and I'm very happy with my purchase. I highly recommend this and the seller.
