Water drops should readily absorb, not bead. New concrete is caustic. The concrete pH must be below 12 but above 6. We recommend that you take the safe approach and -ETCH OR SAND the concrete first. Then, neutralize the surface with a baking soda or ammonium solution. You can first test LastiSeal Stain in an inconspicuous area, let it cure for at least three days and try to rub it off with a wet rag – the stain should not come off. Do not over-apply – one application in a thin glistening film is usually enough. IF THE STAIN DOES NOT PENETRATE, THE CONCRETE PREP AND THE APPLICATION ARE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE USER.
