## Description

desertcart.com: ANYSECU Android 7.0 POC Radio 4G-W2plus IP Network PTT Radio Work with ZELLO/Real PTT : Everything Else

Review: Excellent for Hams at Home (UPDATE) - First of All, I want to say that this is not a Radio at all. A network device, Yes. The mere fact that it has an external microphone resembling a true RF radio doesn't even qualify it to be called a radio. No pun intended. It is a network device resembling a phone in a Box. Then you ask yourself, Why would you bother buying it? Well I found it interesting and innovating. I must admit I like the simplicity to work it. I mean it is not different than a cell phone from 3-4 years ago. Android 7 with a touch screen. As for the apps. I got rid of that Zello app as I have no use for it. Mostly because it hogs the PTT feature on other apps. As a Ham, I installed 3 apps that I use the most. Echolink Dvswitch Peanut They all work as intended and this is the reason why I recommend this device to Hams that have some disability that cant get on their vehicles or the HOA don't allow them to have an antenna in their roof. I have only tested using this device using home WiFi and it performs excellent. One caveat, the volume on most applications I used cannot be controlled via the On/Off volume knob. GPS was not even configured as I prefer to not use it. I recommend this device for my Fellow Hams. =========Update================= I tested this device on a Mexican Cell Carrier (TelCel) and it works just fine on a regular prepaid account. Service is good in Tijuana as well as International roaming in USA.
Review: Nice 👍 - This little IP radio is cool. I'm glad I added it to my radio bench. I don't use Zillow, I simply got it for echolink and I love having it, much better then using a phone or laptop. It gives the feeling of using a real RF radio. Because it is an IP radio I had to save the money to buy it, (I'm only allowed to spend so much on radios), but I'm glad I did eventually get it. There is a issue with using the chat box on Echolink because the radio is not meant for texting, however for me it is not something I miss with Echolink, I'm not big into the chatbox, I'd rather use voice. Since I am using it in the ham shack I just hooked it up to my 30amp power supply, this did create an issue with the clock because I turn off the power supply when I shut down my radios. To correct this I bought a wall wart adapter. That problem will not be an issue in a vehicle, but if your adding it to your shack it should be considered when buying. The sound is good on the unit, nice mix of base, good and clear. When I did put echolink on I did have to change the volume knob settings, echolink needs to be set in the volume to media or else the radio adjusts volume for phone calls. How to do it can be found on the echolink web page..

## Questions & Answers

**Q: When we push the microphone button - we have an audible message "no account found on this device" how can we fix this?**
A: Uninstall the included application Real PTT

**Q: Can this radio be used as a base station utilizing a home wifi network?**
A: Yes! I, personally, run a mumble server so I can have a wifi connected radio AND/OR remote radio. I highly suggest this option (zello would be easier), but especially mumble if you buy a 10 year domain with Google Domains, setup a mumble server on a raspberry pi along with ddclient (so you can connect remotely). In the end, you can have a password protected, end-to-end encrypted personal radio - and with mumble, the server admin can add users, password protect the server, create groups, full user/permission/access control of channels (basically discord, but open-sourced, with no video streams). I'm loving the ability to use this over typical cell coverage. I only really talk to a small number of people anyway. 😊

**Q: Zello isn’t working?**
A: Can work with Zello

**Q: Is there a better manual available anywhere beyond the basic 4 page set up guide it ships with?**
A: No not really not that I have seen. It operates very similar to an android phone.

### ⭐ Very expensive phone to talk on just with microphone
*by M***. on December 10, 2025*

Absolute junk! I mean what I say. I am a ham I am a truck driver. I thought this thing would end my boredom of not being able to talk on the ham bands while driving across the country. Better than sliced bread I thought. So I put the money down and waited longer than I should have to get this device. Now I’m not going to lie it looks great and is hefty. Not cheap Chinese junk. That’s where the good points end. Off the bat! Could not download apps because some idiot decided you need to enter a special code in the dialer to bring up a special screen to allow apps to download. Yup that makes no sense. Then Zello won’t work. Just doesn’t. Also zello wants to run all the time even when you don’t want it to. Ok try peanut. That’s great. But they need a code and you have to send an actual picture of your license to them. Good luck with the fcc website. Anything government is not efficient. Ok use dv switch. Nope you have to have all star setup and then go into one of the setup files and add lines of code to get the dv switch to work with the device. Ok what about other real ptt which comes with the device. No way to create a login on the app. Try the website, oh look, it looks just like the app. No way to create a login. Other than that there are may more apps to allow use of ham bands through a phone and r this phone device. Again you already have a phone. Just no external microphone. So in essence you are paying 200$ for a cell phone which you already have just to have a microphone to hold and talk into. Echo link works but you can use your phone for that. Not worth the hassle the time the expense or aggregation for using a phone that you already own. Sending mine back if you like spending time and money on something that will irk the living crap out of you, buy it. If not keep your phone. You already there
