My 14-day assessment is this is a great value case. A few quick points: Fan volume: The fan was noticeable on the 5v connector but not obnoxious. I’m noise-averse to fans from equipment on my desk so I dropped the fan to the 3.3v connector on the Pi and couldn’t hear a thing, even 12 inches. Temperature (at 3.4v “low” speed) I ran a stress test ($stress-ng) and never went above 75C using the included case, fan, and thermal tape. My ambient room temperature was 72F (22C), and at no load the P4 averages 43-44C. //cut// <beginning 20 min into stress test> 16:40:01 UTC - Temperature: 75.0 C load average: 4.08, 4.02, 3.71 16:45:01 UTC - Temperature: 73.0 C load average: 4.08, 4.02, 3.81 16:50:01 UTC - Temperature: 75.0 C load average: 4.08, 4.02, 3.88 16:55:01 UTC - Temperature: 73.0 C load average: 4.08, 4.04, 3.93 <test stopped at roughly 16:57 UTC> 17:00:01 UTC - Temperature: 47.2 C load average: 0.11, 1.96, 3.13 17:05:01 UTC - Temperature: 44.3 C load average: 0.00, 0.71, 2.25 17:10:01 UTC - Temperature: 44.8 C load average: 0.00, 0.25, 1.62 17:30:01 UTC - Temperature: 43.3 C load average: 0.00, 0.00, 0.41 //cut// Without modification, the Pi 4 CPU throttles at 80C to preserve itself, so this was really a test to see if I would ever need to adjust to a higher speed depending on my use case. If you want to duplicate the test, just make this into a script and add it to your crontab at 5 min intervals (*/5 * * * * /path/to/script) echo "`date` `landscape-sysinfo --sysinfo-plugins=Temperature` `uptime | cut -b 39-70`" >> mytemp One complaint: The screws. The screws on this case are very poor quality. They’re tough to get in and easy to strip. Not a problem if you intend to set it up and the ignore it forever, but if you want to take the case apart frequently for different projects then I recommend a different model. I think 1-star off is justified for a case you can only disassemble a few times, especial for a project board. Overall, great value case and at low speeds the fan is inaudible and still keeps the Pi4 below throttle temp.
