Review: A great platform for a great holster - This is a great platform for the Blackhawk Serpa holsters. I use this as necessary but also have the hip and chest mounts for the same holsters. While I like this more than the hip holster for comfort, I do loose 2 pockets when wearing this and it bangs on a little more things getting in and out of trucks, so I'll use my hip holster depending on what I'm doing that day. I know there's some controversy on this type of holster from dumb people shooting themselves in the leg, and I know most, if not all, federal agencies have moved away from this design. I don't really think that's a fault of the design and I like this design more than the Safariland holsters with the thumb lock. The issue was people having a round chambered, usually in a Glock or Sig without a safety, and as they'd quick draw their finger would immediately go from the release button on the holster, to the trigger, and shoot into the ground, sometimes their leg. There's a few problems there that can't be blamed on the equipment. First off, they should have trained on their equipment without a loaded weapon first to be sure they weren't going to do something as stupid as immediately going to the trigger, accidentally or on purpose. And second, every firearms training I've ever been to stresses not to put your finger on that trigger until you're ready to engage your target. You just don't do that. I've beat a few of these up in Afghanistan and they get scratches but I've never had a failure of any type. I'd recommend going with the level 2 holster for any serious day to day use. The level 3 is overkill, and the level 1 (smaller version) allows the safety to be accidentally clicked off just from getting in and out of a vehicle or other movements. The level 2 doesn't get in the way but protects that safety and the hammer from being snagged. This is a seriously great system and I love the different features, like the optional quick connectors that lets me easily transition this holster from my hip or leg carry to my vest carry mounts. I don't need different holsters, just the mounts and quick connect pieces.
Review: Actual Blackhawk product is GREAT - **Please read through everything below because the actual real product is fantastic, I just got scammed by a overseas Chinese knockoff seller. desertcart was AWESOME in getting this fixed** If you bought this from the overseas Chinese seller WILDETAIL it is a cheap knockoff. Make sure you call desertcart right away when you receive it and they will straighten it out. The item came in a small bubble mailer in a plastic bag and was very inferior to the actual Blackhawk product. Also it doesn't say Blackhawk anywhere on the product and the entire construction/parts used is not what you would expect from a company like Blackhawk. The holes aren't even big enough to attach a holster. Another dead give away is the customs declaration, they declared it to be worth $13, even though you spend $45. I wouldn't even pay $5 for this product. **desertcart was very helpful in fixing the issue** I called right away because I knew the second I opened it that it was fake. I went out and purchased the real thing in person after placing my order on here and finding out it was going to take 30+ days. So I had the real thing to compare this fake knockoff to. I explained everything to them and they refunded my entire purchase price, no questions asked. Don't even have to send the cheap piece of garbage back. I mustn't have been the only person to complain. I see desertcart has now fixed the problem and removed the seller. Now off to my thoughts on the actual REAL BLACKHAWK drop leg system. Its a 5/5 in my book. I paid an extra $15 to actually buy it in person here in the states from a police supply store but I'm glad that I did. I've used drop leg systems in the past but never liked it due to the fact that they only had one strap holding it to the belt. The "Y" design on this product is perfect and distributes the weight of the gun nicely and doesn't pull down your pants. The "Y" straps adjust along a long ways for however you prefer it to sit on your leg, high or low. The actual straps that go around your leg is nice as well. They have a rubbery grippy substance on the inside to help it hold onto your pants so it doesn't slide around. Attaching a holster was simple and it included the needed hardware if you don't already have some. I've only used it with level 3 holsters so I can't say if the level 2 or lower will work although it seems like any Blackhawk Serpa holster would fit. The mounting even allows for a slight cant of the weapon if needed. Another thing I like is the fact that you can disconnect the entire system without undoing the belt loops. Just press the button and it comes right off. The loops attach to your belt with a very nice and secure velcro system, it even has velcro on the inside to help hold it in place on a duty belt (if your using a duty belt or if your duty belt has loop velcro on the inside). Another nice thing is that the loops can be used for keepers if your duty belt isn't to thick. (I included photos of the loop attachments) Once again, if you bought this from the Chinese seller WILDETAIL make sure you call desertcart as soon as you receive it because it is a knockoff product. Spend the extra $10 to buy it in the USA, you won't be disappointed. Its a great system, I give it 5/5

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ not only was their quality control so poor I found their holster dangerous to use
*by C***S on January 3, 2018*

Years ago I tried a thigh rig by Safariland. Sadly, not only was their quality control so poor I found their holster dangerous to use, the thigh rig was uncomfortable and distracting. The Blackhawk holster (Serpa Level 3) has performed exceptionally well from day 1. Recently I decided to try a thigh rig again. I bought this, mounted my holster on it, and strapped in on my leg. Big difference! It's comfortable and solid on my leg. Too many guys like to wear these things way down their leg, strutting around like John Wayne and looking TactiCool. When you see these guys draw their whole body twists around so they can reach down. If you have to do that, you A) look real silly, and B) need to raise your thigh rig up until you can draw without reaching at all. When properly adjusted, drawing from a natural, standing position should be quick, natural, and require no twisting or leaning or weird dance moves. Drawing from the sitting position may or may not involve weird dance moves... The areas in front and behind the holster are for accessories, such as magazines and flashlights and whatnot. You should know that there is almost nothing from Blackhawk that properly fits in these spots other than a couple magazine holders. With a drill, however, anything should fit. Two things to keep in mind: First, the straps that go around your leg are roughly the same size as most duty belts, so that's yet more handy real estate for gadgets and whatnots. Second, and this is important: You're strapping stuff to one leg. While the holster rides high enough to not be a problem, if you add a bunch of magazines and knives and lights and batons and radios and spare tires to your fancy holster, you're going to be a Youtube sensation if you ever have to run and someone records you. Keep the goodies spare and light. Highly Recommend!
