This wax is quite hard and does not melt easily. For one TBSP of this wax I needed just about 1 and 1/2 TBSP of oils to soften it up enough for lip balm. I'm not sure how well this would work for a cotton wrap. You might want to research about carnauba wax to see if that might work a little better. I don't think carnauba wax is as hard and the candelillia wax. I hope this is helpful to you. **Q: Can this be used as a hard wax for armpits?** A: I use beeswax as part of my lip balms and deodorants, so I would say you can use this too. When I used it for a beeswax substitute in lip balms, I used half the amount I would have used for the beeswax. It’s much harder. **Q: How is this wax extracted? Is sulfuric acid used?** A: If its sourcing and extraction are not stated on the packaging and the distributor feigns ignorance, it’s likely it uses sulfuric acid and exploitive labor to extract. **Q: Does this have a strong smell? I am looking for an alternative to beeswax as I am not the most fond of the chemically smell of beeswax.** A: I never thought beeswax to have a chemically scent.
