SkinGuard

The Gillette Skinguard blades are, without exaggeration, the most comfortable and irritation‑free shave I’ve had in years. As an older guy with thinner, more delicate skin — and with diabetes making my skin even more prone to nicks and irritation — shaving has become something I approach carefully. These blades changed that completely. I would give these 10 stars if I could. What makes them so different? The Skinguard bar actually works. It sits between the blades and keeps them from digging into the skin. Instead of scraping, it smooths the skin as the blades pass. That single design choice eliminates the tugging and micro‑cuts that older skin is so vulnerable to. Fewer blades = less trauma. Multi‑blade razors like the Fusion 5 can be too aggressive for aging skin. The Skinguard uses a gentler two‑blade system, but because of the guard and the spacing, it still gives a close, clean shave without the harshness. No razor burn, no redness, no bumps. With most razors, I’d get irritation immediately — especially around the neck. With these, the skin stays calm. Even shaving daily is no longer a problem. Perfect for men with diabetes or sensitive skin conditions. When your skin heals slowly or reacts easily, you need a razor that protects first and cuts second. This is exactly that. Surprisingly close shave for how gentle it is. I expected comfort; I didn’t expect the shave to be this smooth and even. Costs less than Fusion 5 cartridges. Better comfort and cheaper? That’s rare these days. For older men, or anyone whose skin has become more sensitive with age or health conditions, these blades are an absolute must‑try. They turn shaving from something you tolerate into something you can actually enjoy again. A truly unmatched combination of comfort, safety, and performance.
