Does this filter have a flow adjustment?

It does but it's an extremely minimal change in the flow, unless I got a defective one. If you've only got one filter on your tank, don't use this one.

Is there any type of "filter extender?" I need it to reach farther now.

Not that I know of. But, I bet you can go to your local hardware or builder store and find vinyl tubing that has a diameter that would snuggly fit over the end of the tube. Then you can make it how ever long you need and cut it to size. Bring the filter tube into the store and test it out on different sizes. I'm sure something will fit on it.

I need an extension on the water intake, what is the longest length I can add to this filter?

I was concerned also when i realized how short the tube was, but can say after a years use that this is one of the best filters I've ever used in my 35 gal tank.
