**Q: Does this fit a 2.5 inch hole ?**
A: Yes, it does fit a 2.5 inch hole.

**Q: Are these rated for salt water or fresh water use?**
A: They are rated for freshwater but are a match for the 218 DLV Carolina Skiff I use in saltwater. Have used them for 6 months and still work fine. I do wash the boat every use and spray with salt away.

**Q: on the photo for the white one there is a dress. that's not really reassuring**
A: Got the black one, worked good.
