The 18 inch handle gives plenty of reach over a hot grill or smoker, and the double mop head holds a good amount of sauce so I can cover ribs, pork, brisket, or chicken much faster. It is especially useful with thinner BBQ sauces and mops that would just drip off a regular brush. The oak handle feels sturdy and comfortable, and the longer length keeps my hands farther away from the heat, which I definitely appreciate. Once you start using a real BBQ mop, standing there with a tiny pastry brush suddenly feels like trying to paint a house with a toothbrush. 😂 Overall, sturdy, absorbent, easy to use, and a great tool for anyone who grills or smokes meat regularly. Review: Satisfied all around - I have been using this mop for smoking meats and have not been let down. It soaks up enough to cover all the meat without having to go back to the bowl. A quick in and out helps reduce heat loss and results in better bbq! Great size of mop and handle allows me to easily get to the lower grate and the extra mop head is great to keep separate for poultry. It soaks up enough to cover all the meat without having to go back to the bowl. A quick in and out helps reduce heat loss and results in better bbq! Great size of mop and handle allows me to easily get to the lower grate and the extra mop head is great to keep separate for poultry. No complaints here. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Effective and handy. *by B***E on July 30, 2014* Extremely absorbent, so we first saturate the mop with water and squeeze out to "prep" it, then dip into marinade or sauce and baste. Obviously, the thinner the liquid you're using, the more it's going to soak up so that procedure is helpful. We put it right in the top rack of the dishwasher, which seems to work just fine for cleaning. The cotton does stain, but that doesn't affect performance. Nice product at a great price. --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.no/products/1335824-18-basting-mop-bbq-mop-brushes-for-sauce-extra-absorbent](https://www.desertcart.no/products/1335824-18-basting-mop-bbq-mop-brushes-for-sauce-extra-absorbent) --- *Product available on Desertcart Norway* *Store origin: NO* *Last updated: 2026-10-26*
