Dunlop Heavy Core electric guitar strings are made with great pride in Benicia, California and specially designed for the player that plays in dropped or lowered tunings. Our Heavy Core strings incorporate a unique core wire and proprietary wrap ratios to offer players the ability to really "dig in" while retaining a tight low end, focused midrange and smooth top-end when playing clean or distorted. Gauges: .010, .013, .017, .028, .038, .048

They’re dirt cheap, they don’t make any sense, and they can handle tunings as low as C# standard even though they’re .10’s. And I say ‘handle’ because these are somehow able to stay taut at places where other strings of identical gauge would become noodles. I broke one of these trying to tune it a half step over standard, which is pretty typical for me when I’m using light gauge strings. BLACK. MAGIC. This sounds kind of negative but these are my favorite strings in the world. They shine like bridge cables and the tone is diamond hard. I’ve been only using Dunlop heavy cores on a few of my guitars for over two years, now. Get a set, tune below standard, and enjoy your stable intonation on those insane two-step bends. I put these on my Mustang, half a step down, and if you want to do pull-offs until your fingers bleed, by god, that is the way to do them.

They are totally on par with other brands that cost 3 times the price . Nothing to complain about at all, and they last a while and I rarely break one.
