Holds the mic. The dead cat keeps the wind out. Shock mounts keep the vibrations from the boom pole from transferring to the mic. Not sure what else one could ask for.

Used for a film this past weekend. The construction is plastic. Took a pretty heavy spill and was still intact. Even the rubber bands! There's not much wind protection with the blimp alone but it works great with the "wombat." I would definitely recommend this for anyone looking to do outdoor audio. I'm using a Rode NTG2 with a DR-40D recorder. There are multiple connections at the base for stands or handheld. Great value compared to the RODE blimp.

I didn't study the design of this blimp closely enough. While most blimps will hold your mic floating in a rubber band structure, these require the mic to be pressed into a plastic mold. It damaged my microphone. Spend a little bit more money for a blimp that will allow your mic to float, and not be forced into a mold.

I really like this blimp! I have not used another blimp before, so this is my first one. It's fast and easy to set up, and does a super job at blocking the wind rumble from filming outdoors. Light and durable. Some people review that it feels flimsy, and could break easy, but i do believe that the material for the cage is polypropelene? If so, it will be very durable, and flexible. I am not worried in the least. The rail the mounts the blimp and shock mount feels like some sort of GRP material, and seems very sturdy. I am positive I won't need another blimp for many years to come! Thank you Proaim for making an affordable alternative to whats available!! After almost a year of using this, I did swap out the elastic shock mounts for a Rycote set of shockmounts. The elastics were fine, but seemed a little on the weak side. With the upgraded mounts, this Blimp TOTALLY still delivers 110% This was one great purchase, with no regrets, and no broken pieces!

Genial suspensor y antiviento. La única pega es el freno ABS que condiciona el giro de la angulacion en las posiciones fijas del suspensor y no deja exactamente dnde uno quisiera dejarlo. Si no cm arriba cm abajo.

It works okay if the wind gusts are 25-30km or so, it's better than nothing but the windsrceen fur that comes with it is basically as if a real fur windscreen got a buzzcut and has almost no hair, so that makes it so that any decent gusts of wind will affect the audio. Will return and try to get another brand's blimp kit with a better windscreen fur included.
