Review: The best experience to learn guitar - The package arrived on time and whit little damaged but in good conditions. I am real beginner guitar player and I don't known almost anything about guitars. I am 43 years old. I never has played guitar in my live, but I always wanted to. I have just few days with this game. I think I can't do fair and honest review, but for sure I can talk about what I have found about this incredible game. When I was child my parents told me that they didn't want me to attend to guitar lessons and buy me a guitar because if I like neither the guitar nor the lessons, it would be a waste of time and money. Another excuse was that they never had the time to take me to the music institute or classes and bla bla bla. When I grow up, with university and then the job and everything, I couldn't find time to attend to guitar classes...or at list it was my excuse. Few years ago with the Rock Band fever I felt kind of motivated to buy and play the video game. But I thought that it was just a simple game, not a way to learn guitar. Just a plastic toy like that seems like a small electric guitar in order to play like a child. Years latter, searching videos and guitar covers in YouTube I found this Rocksmith PlayStation game. When I realized what it was all about it was like a dream come true. A PlayStation game that really can teach you how to play guitar whit a real electric guitar WOW!!! I continued making deeper researches. I found that the game has: .- Guitar Lessons, where you can learn how to play a song. Rocksmith has preloaded fantastic songs and a lot of DLC songs and packages to learn and play. Also, Rocksmitn can teach us chords, power chords, double stops, barre chords, arpeggios, shifting, palm mutes, slides and a lot of things, so it is not just play a video game, Rocksmith has lessons. .- Session Mode, where you can put in practice the technics and skills you have learned and apply them in combination with other instruments, like you were playing in a band. It means that you can choose 3 different instruments, choose a music style and begin to play. The instruments will follow your melody and style and the game will suggest you the chords you can play in order to follow a nice rhythm. You are actually jamming with a virtual band. .- Mini Games, is where you can play games applying the knowledge you got from lessons. A variety of games where your weapons, your tools, your movements are only made if you play the correct guitar chords. While you play, you learn and practice. A fun way to make guitar exercises. Also: .- Rockmisth helps you to tune your guitar, always from the beginning of the game. .- You can play as a lead guitar player of rhythm guitar player. .- You can learn how to play bass. .- You can have more fun playing with a friend because it has the option for multiplayer. Even both can play a song at the same time. .- You can choose the speed of a lesson or song. Also the game has different levels of difficulty and always evaluates your performance thanks its dynamic difficulty system program that will indicates the percentage of accuracy you had. This system will match the level you have playing the guitar (your ability level) with the level the song must be played in order to have a nice and flow experience. While you are learning and improving, the system will add more difficulties and speed. .- If you have difficulties with a riff, you can repeat it in order to focus on practice a specific song or specific riff of a song. .- Whit the time, while you play, you can unlock virtual amps, tunings and pedals in order to improve the sound of your guitar, improve your performance and add effects. Definitely this is more than just playing a video game. This is a really interactive tool with a lot of visual feedbacks, fun to use. I think it is a great way to learn guitar. I don't know if this game can substitute a guitar lessons in a classroom, but definitely is not just a game, it is an excellent tool for beginners.
Review: "The best thing I will have ever purchased!" - This is perhaps one of the greatest games I have ever purchased. First off, you have to have a guitar with electric input/output capabilities (electric, acoustic electric or bass). You also will need to make sure you have the cable that will go with your guitar to the input of whatever system you are playing on. So be sure to get the version of this game with the cable otherwise it will not work. So, in short, this is an amazing piece of technology. It allows you to use a REAL guitar/bass to “play” this game and help teach you how to play that instrument. The Rocksmith 60 day challenge is playing for atleast one hour per day for 60 days. Try it, it is amazing. If you want more details then please read the following which is based on my first 1-2 hours of gameplay. So first off is the song mode, which can also be broken up into various segments as well. You start by picking one of the many songs already pre-loaded with the game. There are also many more songs and song packs that can be purchased to add to the line-up, but keep in mind they are some what pricey, ranging from about $3 per song and anywhere between $8 to $12 for a pack of songs that may include between 3-6 songs depending on which pack you purchase. But for this review I will start with the very first song on the list which is the one I went with which was "R U Mine" by the Arctic Monkeys. Right off the bat this game made me happy because I was hearing the actual song from the actual band, not some generic group of people covering the song. When you first start up Rocksmith, it will ask you a couple of questions to get a general idea of where you should start out at. I chose all of the beginner’s options as I really do not know much about playing guitar. So, because of these options, when I started to play that first song, it was extremely easy with only playing one or two notes on only one string. But, that is ok, because what this game does is it assess how well you are doing and determines how to g oabout getting you to improve. After playing this first song, the next suggestion to me was another mode within called Riff Repeater. In this mode, it had me starting off on a fraction of one of the main riffs in that song, slowed to about 75% speed and only one note every now and then. As I completed the riff correctly with no mistakes, it would start over, but this time add a few more notes into, slowly building me up into being able to learn the entire riff at full speed. I made it to about 43% difficulty before I had to stop! The next mode I tried out was the Guitarcade, which is a section. This mode is incredible. There are about 18 different mini games to be played with each one focusing on a specific technique. For instance, the first one I played is called Star Chords (yes, very similar in name to Star Wars and you will see why). In this particular game you are a fighter pilot in space. Enemy ships will come in to attack you. You have to shoot them by playing the appropriate chord. Take too long and they shoot you instead, taking away some of your health. Lose all of your health and the game is over. Once the game is over you will be given your final score based on how well you performed and be given the option to post your score to the leaderboards as well if you like to compete. Each game also comes with a series of objectives to be completed in the game. Completing these objectives will allow you to gain stars, and with enough stars, you level up. Two other game modes that are available are lesson mode and session mode. Lesson mode is just that. Various lessons on different aspects of guitar playing. Session mode is very open but also allows for a lot of detail. In session mode, you are free to play however you want to, just jump in and start going to town and playing around. What is unique about this mode though is the fact that you are capable of adding accompanying instruments to back you up, drums, bass and even other guitars. You get to control every aspect of this “band” and it follows your lead. When you play a certain way, the instruments you have set in will pick up on how you are playing and try to match your playing style as best as it can to give it the sound of a full on band! Overall, this is completely amazing. Quite easily the best thing I will have ever purchased! I had to make myself stop playing but could have easily kept going for hours longer. Looking forward to continuing my experience with this product and will be highly recommending this to anyone and everyone I come across. Thank you for reading this and I hop this has helped your decision.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The best imaginable guitar teaching tool
*by R***Y on December 28, 2013*

I don't normally write reviews on amazon, but this product works so well and is so much fun that it seems criminal to not recommend it to others in some way. I own multiple guitars and in the past I've taken guitar lessons. Lessons are expensive. More than being expensive, they start extremely slow and it can get frustrating, especially when you're not interested in the music you're practicing. Rocksmith 2014 is the cheapest, most efficient way to learn guitar. The most amazing thing I can say about it is that it works. It works so well. Songs start you off with very low difficulty, and very few notes--a la Guitar Hero. As you hit notes and come to learn the song more notes are added and the difficulty will automatically scale as you're playing. This way you're always kind of struggling with whatever part you're trying to learn, but you're never too far from learning it. The final difficulty is just the exact tablature of the song. The game recognizes the notes you're playing extremely well. I never had a moment where I thought I was playing the song right and the game just wasn't registering it. When you miss a note or hit a wrong note, the game will even indicate on the screen that you're too high on the neck and need to move up a few frets or maybe it will tell you that you're playing the right notes on the wrong string and indicate to move up a string. It's a brilliant system, and the more time you spend with it the faster you'll be learning. This package goes so far beyond that, though. There are tons of minigames (think typing of the dead or streets of rage with guitars) where you'll play an arcade game and have to play scales to progress or chords to kill zombies. It blows me away how much music theory can be learned in this game. The incredible thing is just how little I ever felt like I was learning. It's fun. On top of all that, this game is incredibly fun and rewarding in that same Guitarhero/Rockband way where hitting a note just feels incredible. But you aren't hitting a note on a plastic controller, though. You're playing your real guitar. It's an incredible moment when you 100% a song and realize that you weren't playing a game, you played an actual song. I'll be honest, though: Rocksmith isn't perfect. The singular area in which it could have improved was more starting songs. Maybe I'm spoiled because Rockband would have hundreds of songs out of the gate, and lots of unlockable songs, but the track list doesn't feel as varied as it could be. I was pleasantly surprised to see Minus the Bear and a few songs that I'm quite familiar with given my music game experience, but the tracklist is only a minor disappointment in a stellar guitar teaching tool. There are DLC songs to rectify this, but you'll have to spend money for more songs of course. If you're the kind of person that looks at Rocksmith and thinks "yeah it would be kind of cool to learn guitar," then please look no further. This is the definitive guitar teaching tool. It's going to teach you guitar quicker than anything else, and it'll teach you music theory, how to position your hand, chords, scales and soloing along the way. This is the best way to learn guitar.
