"I’ve filed my own nuts for years and was expecting to have a little work on my end but this thing is unsalvageable. So initially things looked good. I always put the nut in without any mods to see where I’m at on it. Installation was easy. Made all my measurements and found this but had too many issues to overcome. It looked at first that the slots weren’t evenly spaced. Took out my caliper and all of the slots were spaced differently which was what made the strings look goofy going down the neck. Slot distances were between 0.238 and 0.279 which was why they weren’t running straight. Next I noticed that the 2nd and 5th string slots were initially cut too deep. The 5th string was slotted lower than the 6th string and the 2nd string was cut lower than the 1st string. At this point I knew that I would have an easier task having an uncut piece of bone to make everything myself. I knew I just needed a new nut at this point buy thought Id check other things to see how bad this thing was. The slots were cut straight across and didn’t slope down to avoid buzzing and intonation issues. Then finally I noticed while tuning that the nut was pinching the strings. I would expect this if I were using heavy gauge strings but I have a set of 9’s on this. This company really has some quality control issues. So below is a quick list of issues with the nut to summarize. 1. Slots not evenly spaced 2. Two slots are cut lower than the outside strings 3. Nut is 42.13 mm and not 42 mm 4. Slope is flat 5. Slots are too small for even 9 gauge strings 6. All slots except for the high E 1st string were more than half the strings diameter down into the slot. In summary get a nut elsewhere.
