A DI unit, DI box, Direct Box, Direct Input, Direct Injection or simply DI is an electronic device that connects a high impedance, line level, unbalanced output signal to a low impedance mic level balanced input, usually via XLR connector. DIs are frequently used to connect an electric guitar or electric bass to a mixing console's microphone input. The DI performs level matching, balancing, and either active buffering or passive impedance bridging to minimise noise, distortion, and ground loops. DIs do not perform impedance matching. Pyle has been in business for over 35 years, and their manufacturing experience and expertise is easy to see - and hear. ## Features - ¼ “ DEVICE CONNECTOR: Provides a variety of DI solutions with its ¼ inch device connector and detachable AC power cord for live sound recording applications. The XLR side is male, so the cable would need a female connector, and the 1/4" / TRS / TS / Phone side is female, so you would need a cable with a male plug for this side. There's also a pass-through 1/4" jack wired in parallel with the adjacent 1/4" jack, as can be seen in the pictures.I'd buy this if... electrical noise was not an issue. The unit I got allows excessive electrical noise in anytime it's placed near other equipment, so it has to sit a foot or two away in an open space. I'm not very happy with the design of the unit in that respect, but other than that it's working well for me and is inexpensive. **Q: What's the frequency respond range? is it comparable to prodi and jdi?** A: Yes full Hz response from 20 to 20,000 hz **Q: How much does it weight?** A: Not more than a pound or two, but really... save yourself the headache and go with 2 LiveWires. I've had my two for almost a year with about 75% beach gigs and they still work like new. The Pyle had problems out of the box. **Q: Any suggestions on how to get rid of the loud signal noise? Had clean guitar and bass going in, out via xlr to interface, sound unusable.** A: I have the one with the xlr in/out as well. It is noisy.. suspect the TRS inputs I'm using in my Stereo Out Processor is a different wiring. My Guy is adding a ground. I need the vertical outputs this box has, all bundled in a aluminum travel case. Plug and play.
