Great alternative to binoculars.
I like these. Small, portable and fairly clear optics. The focus ring and eyecups are the weak link, I've had problems with them in the past.

Impressive
This monocular is small, functional and durable. I've used it extensively since receiving it from amazon. It's multi coated lense doesn't fog up and is crystal clear. I recommend getting the 10x for it's light gathering capability but I'm sure the 8x functions well also. It's also ergonomically designed and can in fact be easily adjusted using only one hand. It feels right in the hand and the carrying strap is perfect for any bow hunter who intends to wear this monocular while shooting, it doesn't get in the way of the string and is of no concern, allowing me to focus on the my shot while hunting. I've also crawled around while bow hunting in sand and grit with this Vortex monocular and it cleaned up amazingly well some sand and grit did get in the adjustment ring but after it dried up I simply blew it away. I've permanently attached the carrying case to my fanny pack and intend to take the monocular on all my hunting and scouting adventures.

Good product for quick viewing
Purchased this item to carry with me every day in my computer bag to have for quick viewing of wildlife or items that are too far away to see with the naked eye. Works very well and my grandsons really like it as well. The only issue I have found (and the only reason I did not give it 5 stars) is the eye relief as I am a glasses wearer, but for the price and size it works very well. I can make it work with a slight blackout ring around the outside due to glasses wear and short eye relief. Good focus ring movement and very easy to acquire the subject. Very bright optics as all Vortex items I have tried. Very compact and light. it is pretty rugged as well. This has what has become a standard in better quality optics, the twist up eye cup and it works well and stays in place.I would recommend this for anyone that is not a glasses wearer that wants compact, clear and bright optics in a monocular. If you are a fellow glasses wearer and as I have learned to do, tolerate short eye relief, it is not too bad for us either. I could not find another product that was this compact and good optics quality that has long enough eye relief for glasses wearers.

Great piece of glass!
The Vortex Solo 10x25 is a fantastic little monocular. The clarity is what you'd expect from Vortex. It has an easy to use focus dial right around the eyepiece. I'm very happy with my purchase.

The Monocular That Was King… Until Tech Leveled Up
The Vortex Solo 10x25 is basically the pocket scout that shows up with great clarity, solid coatings, and that classic Vortex durability. It’s light, easy to carry, and perfect for quick spotting — the kind of optic you toss in a bag without thinking twice. But 10x25 only gets you so far.If you’re trying to see details, track wildlife, or get a closer look at distant scenery, you’ll hit the limit fast. Modern monoculars with bigger objectives or higher magnification simply give you more reach and better low‑light performance. So yeah — great clarity, great build, but if magnification matters, there are better picks now.Solid 3/5 — good, but not the one you recommend for serious zoom.

Now you have no excuse to disturb the wildlife!
My husband got this for spotting animals while hiking. We took this photo of harbor seals (or some kind of seal, I’m not a marine biologist) from the other side of the bay at far enough distance that the seals were not disturbed. I love not being that jerk disturbing the wildlife! Perching your phone and the monocular on a large boulder or tree for stability, you can use your smartphone to peer through the monocular for a photo. The clarity is even better when looking without your phone. I also find this monocular handy for urban use, like when you see a bunch of flashing lights down the street and you want to be nosey and see what’s going on. Is it creepy? Yes. Will you potentially see gruesome things only first responders should see? Yes. Is it oddly satisfying to the morbidly curious? Also yes. Peer with caution, maybe set aside money for therapy.

You Have To See It To Appreciate It
That is you have to see through it to appreciate it. I was pleasantly surprised at the simplicity of this little scope. A quick summation should suffice:The optical clarity is excellent all through the zoom range. There is always something better, but if it works well who cares? The field of view is more than sufficient at the longest range. It is easy to hold without losing sight of the target image, especially if you can lean against something for support.Unlike binoculars it is quick to pull out and start using it.This monocular works much better than I expected. I use it for looking at targets on a pistol/rifle range, and can easily see holes in the paper at 50 yards, sometimes out to 75 yards. It is so small it can be hidden in the hand if for some reason that would be necessary.I have been using optical devices (rifle scopes, camera lens etc) for over 40 years so I have a good deal of experience with gadgets like this. Having paid more than $2000.00 for rifle scopes and pricey German camera optics, I find nothing wrong with this little scope. Time will tell if it wears well.

best monocular I've had
I've had two other monoculars in the past, I have a terrible habit of loosing them. The earliest one I had was less powerful but I forget the make/model. My last one was a "visionary" which had a very clever close range function for looking at insects and flora etc, it had the same stats for distance 10x but I think the field of vision was smaller than this. With this one the field of vision feels a lot larger even though I believe it's only 1 more than the visionary it somehow feels a lot bigger, brighter and crisper image. The monoculars structure is very satisfying because it feels very durable and textured, feeling like a sturdy piece of kit but is also very light. The pouch you get with it isn't the neoprene sock thing that you see in some of the you tube "unboxing" it is however a soft Velcro pouch like you'd normal get for a camera etc. A twist out eye relief which I find very useful because otherwise all I could see would be my own eyelashes on the lense. I recommend this monocular.

Most value for money monoscope
The clarity and distance focus for this inexpensive monoscope is beyond that expected of even pieces in higher price range. Can view road signs claerly up to 1.5km away
