Talparid so closely mimics the mole's natural food that mole's respond to the bait in the same way as an earthworm, thus gaining its reputation as "the bottom line in mole control. "If Talpirid doesn't seem to work, consider: 1. Are you using gloves when applying the bait? Not using gloves may contaminate the bait with a human scent. 2. Are you applying product before or after a heavy rain? Rain and humidity can break down the bait faster than normal conditions. 3. Is a chemical insecticide or fertilizer being applied to the lawn? Chemicals that are applied before or after (within a few days) of applying Talpirid can affect the bait by contamination. Hence, the chemical gets on the bait by seeping through the tunnels. 4. Are you following the three-step process on the package? 5. Are you baiting properly once you find the main active run? If you bait without ever doing a test to find the active tunnel(s), than the bait may never be encountered and eaten by moles. **Q: Can i just stomp down their tunnels and then bait the newly created paths?**
A: That just keeps them digging.   Put on your gloves, we have even cut them in half, sometimes, but be sure to not touch them.  We use a toothpick to get them out of the tray.  Use a stick to make a hole in the run to drop the “worm” into, then use the stick again a little to tamp it down.  They work great.  But have patience.  They’re not stupid.

**Q: Would this be safe to use, if I have a well?**
A: Yes it is safe to use.

**Q: At what temperature is best to place these in the yard?  Thanks.**
A: I love this product. I usually place these in the morning when the soil is moist and the temperature is around 70 degrees.

**Q: After reading all the questions and answers, I stilll am confused on one aspect. Do the worms get placed in the piles of dirt mounds or not?**
A: They do get placed in the "dirt mounds", i.e. mole hills, and in the tunnels. They work!!
