She was getting started as a model, living with 3 other women, all in the same field, all barely making enough money to survive. Her boyfriend took her to a MLB game even though she had no clue about any sports and didn’t want to go. This is how she met Caden, accidentally and painfully! She was hit in the face by his home run ball. Caden, gorgeous and extremely awesome, 5th best in the league, catcher in the MLB, was living his dream with his first and only love…Baseball. This is where their story starts and what a story! I couldn’t put this book down, mostly because of the excellent writing, storytelling, the romance, the friendships, the plot, the character building and I love baseball! There are some baseball action plays, wish there were more, and drama. This is a must read if you love sports books. I really loved the book and the characters however my liking of the main female character Murphy dimmed considerably when the sex tape was released and she placed the blame on Caden for not telling her that Tony contacted him and told told him about the tape. I could understand to a point why she may have been angry at first but after thinking about it she should have realized she had her own opportunity to find out about the tape had she not blocked Tony and later Kirsten when they called her saying Tony had something sge would want. I am at no point blaming her for the tape she didn't even know existed but Caden wasn't responsible either. Also what would she have done had she known about the tape? Would she have caved to Tony's demands? Or gone to the police. I wish instead of running away she had stayed and had a conversation with Caden about the tape he had no proof of, not even a still shot of Murphy even partially unclothed proving that a video exists. I also wish the author had let us know what happened to Tony at the end? Did he go to prison? Did he have to pay restitution? I really don't like loose ends. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Completely Captivating *by T***N on January 31, 2025* Samantha Christy writes what I love to read and this one is completely captivating! When Murphy's face gets shattered by Caden's homerun baseball that comes flying into the stands, neither one of them knew just how much fate had a hand in the accident. Caden checks in with the team's PR lady after the game to find out who the person was that got hit by his ball, hoping it wasn't a kid. She tells him it was not a kid, it was Murphy Cavenaugh, who was taken to the hospital by ambulance. Both she and Caden thought Murphy was a man at this point. Caden shows up at the hospital and in the cafeteria he hears this guy talking about some model that he's dumping because her face is messed up. Then some women calls out the guy's name and he hangs up the phone, and she rushes up into his arms and they start kissing like they're at home, not in line at a hospital cafeteria. Caden finally makes it up to Murphy Cavenaugh's room, but he thinks he's got it wrong because he sees a woman's nice legs in the bed, not the older man that he was expecting. Just a s he was about to leave, the bag of goodies he had with him rips and spills on the floor. Murphy thinks he is part of the medical staff at first, then maybe her modeling agency. When he introduces himself, she has no idea who he is because she doesn't follow any sports. Camden is intrigued. He is also really angry at the douche bag boyfriend, but doesn't know Murphy well enough to tell her what he knows. He shows up again the next day with flowers, and he makes Murphy laugh. They share a great comrade. This book is just fantastic. It's full of fun and humor, love and some angst. It's very heartwarming. I absolutely recommend that you read this one so you can follow Caden and Murphy's friendship to HEA.
