The ad is incorrect. I only ordered because I needed a 2 inch belt. Very disappointed. Thankfully, this belt is fully adjustable. For selecting a belt "length" in general, the rule of thumb is to take your pant size and go up one. So if you wear a 52, you would get the belt that is listed as 54".
